I think when the next wave is finally released, some people will be happy and some people will be 50-50, but I think (hope) everyone will be satisfied regardless. My only concern is of course, ordering these sets without complications, cancellations and or availability like the last wave.

And as we all know ahead of time, jerks will get there greedy little hands on these before the rest of us and sell them on ebay for quadruple the actual price, hopefully all of us can avoid having to go that route.

I hope all of us here that really want this next wave regardless of which characters are in the set, are able to get them at no aggravation or stress, and at the retail price with no BS.

Again, I think that, due to the characters portrayed on the sides of the Spidey set boxes (Cap, Hulk, Iron Man), the next set will be Avengers-themed as well.

There were supposed to be four waves in 2025. Maybe the first wave (which is obviously late) was Avengers, followed by the FF (or at least half of the FF) around this time. We’ll see soon ( I hope sooner rather than later) which assortment is up for order next.

Well, if Dis is smart they will release the FF in two sets: Say, Reed and Johnny initially with two new figs such as Doom and Sub-Mariner and then a second set with Sue and Ben. Better marketing, better inclusion of new figures, more time (if needed) for body tooling.

Somehow I feel that the next set is Avengers-themed, though. I don't really care, as long as they show up properly and the new figs are as good as Electro is.

If you look at the newsletter last week and kinda read between the lines I think I (might have) figured it out

the news letter had two 4’s in it. I don’t think that’s by accident
also Paul has said July for the release date.
and said he’s waiting on Disney to give the go agead
disney also knows how popular this first release was and the second will be a big splash

what gets released in July? The Fantastic Four.
i think Disney wants to time the Mego announcement sometime either right before or right after the Superman film comes out 7-11 to direct the attention back to Marvel and the F4.
If I were a betting man I’d say sometime between the 7th and 14th the announcement of the Fantastic Four Mego (in some capacity) is what we’ll see get announced.

I say some capacity because I don’t know if the issues with the female body and/or the muscle body we’ll see Sue and Ben. But the F4 in some form is what we’ll get

Thing was my favorite Mego as well along with Spiderman. I'd love to see a FF set.

As for Megos I always wanted as a kid.

    1. Doctor Doom
    2. The Flash
    3. Black Panther
    4. Star Wars characters from the OT

I'd be very happy to see the set you suggested with Cap, Iron Man, and Hulk along with either Black Panther or Doom.

‘70s Captain Britain with his Star Scepter and the Black Knight...have you been reading my diary? Two Marvel heroes I've always loved.

But the real answer is Nightcrawler, my 2nd-favorite Marvel hero. Also love Mystique as drawn by John Byrne & Jocasta. And I'm not ashamed to admit I have a soft spot for The Ringer.

As far as DC is concerned, it's Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), Elongated Man, Brainiac 5, Arion (what a line of figures that would be!),and Katana. At least there's a chance for that last one, considering we have a few of the Outsiders. And Changeling. Not Beast Boy, Changeling.

Spider-man only had 2 villains which I had, but I wanted Electro, Doctor Octopus and the Vulture.
Flash and GL would have been great to have back then.

    Nice recipe for Namor!

As for other villains, I had most of the Power Records, including the Hulk vs Abomination and Rhino. Abomination always had a cool look.

For fun, here are a few posts I made on another forum (the Marvel Masterworks Board) last year:

Of those of you who were of actual MEGO playing age, who were your top unmade wants as a kid?

Mine were Iron Fist, Hercules, Nova (Rich Ryder), and Hawkeye. I think I wrote a letter (more like scrawled a letter) outlining my choices, and sent it in to that old Super Hero Catalog (I thought they were the manufacturers!). I recall suggesting that Hercules should have one open hand and one closed fist, like the Lizard, so that he could hold his golden mace.

Ahh, those halcyon days of youthful innocence…

Along with Herc, Iron Fist, Nova, and Hawkeye, a ‘70s black suit Namor and Stingray would have made for cool figures.

Daredevil must have been on the “To do next” list. And maybe Doctor Doom.

The Warriors Three would have been amazing.

I keep on thinking of the list of “What could have been.” ‘70s Captain Britain with his Star Scepter and the Black Knight? Oh mercy…

Nothing revealed as far as the next wave, other than they have shipped from the factory. But no news on whats in that shipment.
it seems kind of hit or miss regarding these figures breaking. Mostly they seem ok, although I highly doubt they would survive the “Great Battles” my originals participated in back in the ‘70s/early ‘80s.

I’m glad your Electro was an easy fix!

    Hi all.

    Long time lurker here.

Just checking in to see if there has been any info re: the second wave of Marvel MEGOs.

Also, I’ve read varying reports on the quality of the Spidey assortment. Are these terribly fragile? Can kids play with them/collectors pose them, without limbs snapping off?

There’s a lot about this whole Disney MEGO Marvel campaign that’s been quite frustrating (distribution/availability, lack of info, figures breaking, etc.).

    Thanks!

That’s not quite accurate. Hasbro does hold the master toy license but they haven’t dictated anything to Mego.

Mego doesn’t have the Marvel license. These figures are ordered by Disney to sell exclusively at the parks. That circumvents Hasbros master toy license.

The difficulty Mego had trying to do Marvel with Hasbro was that the only license Hasbro offers to companies who want to make articulated figures is for an $80 boutique collectable figure. That’s no issue for Hot Toys, Sideshow, Mezco, etc who sell their figures for $80.

The licenses are different for a Funko figure (which is either a bobble head or a statue) or a Goo Jitsu figure (I’m not sure what that counts as but evidently not articulated figure.) McFarlane has a Marvel license to make statues, but not action figures.

We should''ve heard about something by now.

As you are probably aware, the Spider-Man set sold out quick, but was a logistical nightmare for many consumers who either could not purchase one, or had their orders cancelled. Demand is there, infrastructure isn't? Who knows.

I can't imagine Disney ignoring a revenue stream, as they slap their characters on every product imaginable.

Is there an issue on Mego's end, production and distribution-wise? Will tariffs be blamed? Again, who knows.
