New Mego Acquisitions? Got any?

I just got this local to me. Good condition for a 12 incher from 1978.

I love that 12" Mego Superman! I had one as a kid and have one now and it is one of my favorites. It's in an Ikea display shelf along with many of the similarly scaled figures that I had around the same time as a kid: 12" Spider-Man, 12" Hulk, Kenner Six Million Dollar Man and Maskatron and, a later addition, 12" Kenner Indiana Jones.

Probably because I had loved the 12" GI Joe Adventure Team as a kid, I was maybe one of the rare late '70s kids who preferred the 12" Mego super heroes and 12" Kenner Star Wars figures to the littler, more popular versions/equivalents, even if that meant I got a lot fewer of them because of cost.

12" Mego Hulk and 12" Kenner Boba Fett and 13" Kenner Six Million Dollar Man are on my personal 'Mount Rushmore' of post- GI Joe Adventure Team action figures. (Exception that proves the rule: my 4th would be Mego 8" Dr. Zaius or Mego Micronauts 4" Pharoid.)

I just got this local to me. Good condition for a 12 incher from 1978.

Sweet pick up. As a kid I really didn’t get into the 12 inch figures, although I will admit the 12 inch Star Trek motion picture figures interested me, but the gray heads killed it. I also had interest in the Buck Rogers figures, but never did get one, I wanted Tiger Man. I did have the 3-3/4 version, I wish the BR figures were made in the 8 inch size.

I picked up this at a time when I couldn't afford it. I'm a sucker for Ninjas and Martial Arts figures in general. The seller had all three sets but I only wanted this one.

Nice Superman! I remember when I got that at Kings while visiting my grandparents in New Haven, CT. His left leg did not hold up to my rough play, LOL!

$30 for a carded Mugato is even better, congrats. I’m looking for a carded Cheron, they seem to be a bit pricey.

Cool that Cornelius still had his moccasins & The Astronaut had his belt.. They (the figures) look in good shape overall, good score.

It's been said many times before by people way more knowledgeable than me about Mego, but it continues to amuse me how many different variations of the soldier ape are extant. In the photo, that one's head sculpt looks like someone just shot his dog. I have one myself where the head sculpt looks like it was made with 50% reference to Zippy the Pinhead. Crazy and funny and weird, and, at least for me, a significant aspect of what makes nostalgia/vintage collecting fun.

Found a glow in the dark Nosferatu at a walmart I don't frequent too often. That was pretty cool.
