    Nosferatu 3-pack

    Mego Nosferatu.jpg

Was looking for the Nosferatu black overcoat (because I didn't buy the glow in the dark figure) and ended up with 3 for $30 (that includes s/h).

Nice pick ups, and I’m completely stumped on the clothes Scotty is wearing? no Mego that I can think of had pink pants, definitely came from somewhere else, maybe we can figure it out?

Went to the Deland comic and toy show on Sunday and found some good Mego deals. Not sure where Scotty got his groovy pants from, though:

Tarzan himself is an all orignal Type 1 except for the repro knife. The repro box is from the Toy Room.
I always had a place in my heart for the mego Tarzan it was my first mego as a child.
I also have a Type 1 and fortunately I have him with the original knife, but I have mine on the repro Kresge card, also from the Toy Room.

Anthony’s one of the best for repro cards and boxes. Congrats on your jungle man pick up, UNGOWA.

Bought this lot of 34 Megos for $48, Future customs for my Svengoolie/Sventoonie.
That was great deal. I keep telling folks what a customizing treasure trove the Target releases were...

I added to my Mego World's Greatest Superheroes collection this week with this excellent boxed Superman. I bought it not because of the later box variation (I only noticed it after the fact) but the Hudson's Bay price tag.
Let me set the frame; when I was eight years old, I was Mego Superhero crazy, fueled by the Challenge of the Superfriends. One problem is that most of my local haunts had two choices: Hulk or Spider-Man. Unfortunately, I had both of those guys. I tried to get my folks to order from Heroes World, but that wasn't very easy at the time.
Hudson's Bay opened a store in the next town, and my mum took me to the opening. Boom! There it was in the toy department; a Mego Superheroes counter display box loaded with characters from the Heroes World ads, Green Arrow! Shazam! Iron Man! My tiny head exploded, and I went home with that Iron Man.
It was a very happy moment in my childhood, and seeing that price tag brought me right back to the moment. To me, this is what collecting is all about, being in those moments.
