My sets from a Disney shopper came in Yesterday !

Was real happy and a little mad since was charged a stupid amout of duty on these.

Then I read my emails this morning. my bank sent me a email stating that I had a charge on Friday from the Disney store. I have another set coming my way from the Disney store ! The Disney email went to my spam box.

I managed to put in 2 orders with Disney, the first one came in, the second order gave me a date of Aug 17. I was certain that it was going to be canceld... well, its on the way !

I was one of the "back-ordered and arriving August 15th" people. Just got an email with a tracking number and notice that it shipped today (August 1st).

Me, too. Hooray!

I got home to find the set my daughter ordered for me on the steps. It was such a thrill to open up the exterior box, to find that gleaming blue packaging within.

As I took it out, I especially admired the Torch artwork, and how Johnny’s red and yellow stood out. Then I realized: “Wait a sec. That’s the BACK of the Torch’s box!”

For a moment, I feared that the box was empty, or that the Torch had been switched out. But it turned out to simply be the Torch box having been put in backwards.

What a great set.

And to top it off, I got a notification that the set I ordered just shipped. What timing.

I still think it quite odd how my daughter got in the ordering queue a couple of minutes after me, and yet was placed around 150 people ahead of me.

I really, really hope that the third time is charm, and that the ordering and process for the subsequent sets and figures are smoother.

Getting these things (not Ben Grimm) shouldn’t be nearly as much of a hassle as they are!

But what a sweet trip down memory lane.

That's good news! Hopefully all of the cancellations were done and all the backordered orders that survived get shipped.

As for the Disney Shopper, did you use the same one that I did? I discovered there are many shoppers out there now. They seem to be quite in demand now - not just for the MEGO sets, but for many other Disney products (clothing, pins, jewelry, etc.) that people cannot otherwise obtain where they are.

No, I used a Shopper called Tammy that was refered on here. She Told me that she didnt get enough sets to fill her orders so far so Hope that I will get mine. I asked for you, she told me she could not garantee to anyone new.

So happy that you still manadge to get one. That duty charge is really bad !

I looked at the EU site, my checkout bag says it doesn’t ship to Canada. I only used guest checkout., it also says October shipment.

In the list of countries that they ship to, it actually says they will ship to Canada. But not to the USA.

I didn't know about this option before I purchased from the Disney Shopper. But who knows what may happen between now and October? So, if you can get them now for a not-too-horrible price, it might be preferable to buy them now.

She told me that the figures sold out and she did not get enough to fufill all her orders and I am on a waiting list.

Really starting to hate this Disney Marvel system.

I discovered there are many shoppers out there now. They seem to be quite in demand now - not just for the MEGO sets, but for many other Disney products (clothing, pins, jewelry, etc.) that people cannot otherwise obtain where they are.

The shopper had gone on vacation, and ended up being very backlogged with packages. I sent them another message, and they responded right back apologizing for the delay. They were basically sold out of the Fantastic Four sets and were waiting on another shipment to arrive at the Disney Store in California. However, they still did have two sets that had minor damage/shelf wear to the outer blue packaging and that other collectors didn't want, and asked if I was interested in one of those. They sent pics of both and I after seeing them, I determined that they weren't actually in too bad of condition, so I decided to go with one of them. The lady I was dealing with was very pleasant and shipped out my set the same day. It's scheduled to arrive in a couple of days.

Through some digging around, I learned that a lot of other people (including some people here in the industry) actually had to go to them and other Personal Shoppers because of the Disney Store fiasco. I'm not sure whether they still have that other set with the shelf wear, or when they'll be able to pick up more, but you can reach out to them, and I would recommend them.

I also purchased a set though them (Lost Boys Treasures - Disney Personal Shopper) for $125 + shipping.

So, I was recently able to secure a set through a Disney Personal Shopper for $125 USD ($170 CDN), plus shipping. Should be delivered in a few days. The personal shopper only uses UPS for international orders, so I paid about $38 USD (Nearly $52 CDN) for standard shipping to Canada. Now, the bad news is that in addition to the currency exchange rate that does not favour Canadians, I woke up today to the news that I'll have to pay nearly $64 CDN for customs charges and UPS's 'Brokerage Fees.' I will say that the personal shopper was very pleasant to deal with and shipped out my package the same day, so I have nothing but good things to say about her. But at the end of the day, I am paying around three times what a collector in the US has to pay for this set.
