I thought little Beth was going to buy it last night, especially since she was on Talking Dead later. I personally would have waited until morning to torch the shack, instead of wandering off drunk into the dark woods, but hey...
So 80 lb girls who've never had a drop of liquor can chug 140 proof moonshine all night and not get tipsy? Beth should have been sloppy drunk passed out on the floor. At least they didn't go the romance route between her & Daryl.
They missed out on a great cameo by not having the Moonshiners Tickle show up as the zombie.Last edited by johnnystorm; Mar 3, '14, 1:18 PM.Comment

"The new guy", Michael Cudlitz was great in Southland. I'm not usually into cop shows, but that was an excllent series for anyone that has not seen it. It also had some finale with Cudlitz's character. Was really disappointed it didn't come back.Comment

I really loved the episode "Still", with Darryll and Beth.
Basically, two people having a drink, with some zombies on the side.
Very little happens, but the characters get a great chance to express what makes them tick.
Darryll comes from a terrible childhood, the only thing good about it is that it toughened him up (and able to survive post zombie holocaust).
Beth comes from a protected environment, and it's a miracle she is still alive (and she knows it).
Now they are together, both numb from the horror, and they basically just want to sit down and cry, but can't afford to.
I love this kind of episode (other shows would win awards for this kind of writing), but I'm a bit worried that it might put off viewers that want to see zombie mayhem and get bored quick..

Gotta admit I was plenty bored by Still. I usually don't mind those kinds of eps, and I recognize the necessity of them from a character and production standpoint, but it just didn't work for me. I think a lot of it has to to do with the actress who plays Beth, it's like they just yanked her off the high school stage. She was WAY over-matched by Reedus..Comment

I felt the same way. Could have done without this episode.Comment

What I liked about this story, and particularly Beth, is that she is a regular teenager, nothing special about her, having to cope with extraordinary circumstances. So basically, what would happen to most of us.
None of us are Rambo material, we wouldn't last a day in a zombie world.
That makes this interesting material to watch.
I'm happy that they took the time to focus on the regular folk, and not just the ones that wave their samurai sword around.
Because the skills that Darryll and Michonne have, let's face it, are going to be the exception.
And even though Darryll is my favorite character, it's highly unlikely that he could survive with a pretty cumbersome weapon like a crossbow and a handful of arrows (he just carries 4-5, but in combat his supply seems unending).
So I liked the realism of this episode. We also got to hear more about Darryll's background, and how amazing it is that a guy who is caring and sensitive and responsible came from such a brutal childhood.
So it's not an epic story, but a very human one..

So what about last night's episode? instead of coming together they seem to be splitting further apart. However, I think it's pretty clear the finale will be at the doorstep of Terminus . . . the question is who will make it and who won't . . . . I'm hoping darryll whoops the crap out of his new "friends"My Custom Figures

I'm really beginning to hate Maggie's annoying obsession of Glenn (and vice versa).
Doesn't Maggie have a little sister called Beth?
I have yet to hear Maggie say she wants to find Beth, it's all about Glenn this, Glenn that.
Argh...sigpicComment

they were talking about that last night on the after show and Lauren Cohen (maggie) said that Glenn is what keeps her hope alive . . . . kinda lame but that was the official answer to your question as it was asked last night. My Custom Figures
