I noticed they like to use the word sh_t a lot this season.

great episode. some really powerful emotional moments. glad they finally brought Morgan back to at least give some form of closure, in case the actor never comes back again. I think Rick seeing how nustso Morgan was wil help bring him back to sanityComment

I agree with both Damien and Mike, poor backpacker.
He was a living human being begging for help.
Rick and company indirectly killed him.
Where is their humanity?
If they don't care about their fellow human beings, then I don't care about them.
I hope the Walkers kill them all, the humans don't deserve to breath on Earth anymore.
Go Walkers!sigpicComment

The hitchhiker thing was bothersome to me as well. I have a feeling this may come back to haunt them, which would give it some sort of meaning. Otherwise it was just coldblooded and inhuman.Comment

On the follow up Talking Dead show, the question was asked if Rick and company would've picked up the backpacker had him been a kid. The host and guests said yes.
How about if the backpacker been a female, elderly, handicapped, etc?
Why would an able man be any different?
I'd assume he'd be a bigger asset for fending off Walkers.
Strange logic.sigpicComment

My first thought was, they just don't want to deal with some new guys bull****. But then Rick tried to convince Morgan to go with them so that kinda negated that idea. I hope it turns into an interesting plot twist.Last edited by Iron Mego; Mar 4, '13, 11:57 PM.Comment

Screw that backpacker. He's not even smart enough not to scream out around zombies. He called in his own death.
The group has gotten very hard. They've had to. When they were too loose around the prisoners, they got caught by surprise...well, they would have. But they were more used to killing than the prisoners. When Andrea showed up at the prison, she realized she didn't fit in anymore. Even Carol was unfeeling enough to tell Andrea to stab the Governor in his sleep.
I like how dark it has become.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

I wouldn't have picked the backpacker up... This is a have or have not situation and no one can be trusted. Rick tried that a few times and got burned badly. Rick asking Morgan to come with him is different, he is familiar with Morgan(he helped Rick a year or less ago) to understand he's an asset, even in his deteriorated state. A random guy on the side of the road, no chance and it just is a plot event to drive that feeling of desperation home a little more.
This was one of my favorite episodes, and hope for more like this.Comment
