Finally got to watch it tonight and great episode. Good to see some of the others from the comic join the group. Generally I watch the show on demand but a few episodes I've DVR'd right off of AMC. I wonder if the Glen line from the next episode.."We can end this tonight." was refering to the double suicide done in the comic. I know it wasn't Glen or Maggie that did that but the two that did aren't in the show. Soes anyone else think Handlebar-mustach prisoner was in there for being a pedo?. I kind of wondered about that from day one since none of those guys seemed to be upfront about why they were locked up in the first place except for one and the scene in the cel seemed to be suggesting just that.
On another note, am I the only one that finds "Talking Dead" to be be the most pretentious thing on television. I mean I don't ever recall a show needing immediate in-depth (and in your face) analysis and those commercial breaks (Where gonna call this one head-count...) are ridiculous."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

Sorry about that. I really didn't give anything away and I think Glen is such an established character, they wouldn't end his story like that. The comic has way more people in Rick's group than the show and there's a scene where two of them decide they're so in love with one another that it be better to off themselves simultaneously than stick it out and see what happens. Things don't go as planned though. I'm just thinking they put that line in the "next on Walking Dead teaser" for those that have read the comic to kind of wonder if that's where they're going with the story but Glen has become a proven strong-willed character I don't think that would be a fitting end to his story. Also the book and the show have become almost two entirely different entities at this point. The show resembles the book somewhat but there are characters that are major contributors to the comics that haven't even made an appearance in the show, relationships between characters in the book that have been ignored by the show, and characters that have lived longer (or shorter) in the book than on the show. Dale for example doesn't meet his end the way it goes down in the show and he lasts a lot longer than the farm and Lori dies in a completely different manner as well so at this point I would say they are working off book for the most part."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I really like Talking Dead, myself. Yeah, it can get overly "fannish", but it's kinda fun and I like seeing the background stuff, the effects creation & all.Comment
