I saw Phantom of Paradise a week ago and had never seen it before. I saw Suck because Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop were in it, but it wasn't too good. I watched about half of Black Devil Doll and still have to finish it. It's bad in a good way. I have Shockwaves, Torso, and Duel on deck.

Just got The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) on blu-ray. One of my top 10 fav horror flicks and it looks pretty darn great on blu-ray.

I picked up the following today:
    "The Shining" ($5.00 at K-Mart)
    "Gattaca" ($3.00 at Big Lots)
"Zombie Strippers" ($3.00 at Big Lots)
Big Lots had a cardboard standee of Halloween movies, but they were mostly films I either already had or had no interest in owning.

Big Lots has a lot of old stuff out for Halloween. Just picked up the Ray Harryhausen "Mysterious Island" for five bucks.

nabbed "The Monster Club" (and watched it the day it's director Ray Ward Baker" passed away oddly) and "The Munsters Revenge" recently.

Both movies were kind of 'swing and a miss" scenarios, "Club" is too goofy to be scary and "Revenge" tries to reignite the chemistry but the story is too childish. My kids thought it was awesome though.

Those sets are an unbelievable value, I actually found my creech set at the mall and it was under $20.
Are these showing up in any brick and mortar stores for Halloween? I got the Dracula and Wolfman sets a while back when the first Twilight film came out, and Wal-Mart was pusing Vamps and Werewolves. I'd really love to get the Frankenstein set, and maybe the Creature and Mummy as well.

Today I picked up a copy of the 1988 version of "The Blob" at the local Dollar General Store. I also stopped by Big Lots, but all I found was a lone copy of the Warner Home Video Horror Double Feature that includes "It!" starring Roddy McDowall and "The Shuttered Room" with Gig Young. The disc was $6.00. There were a few of these available at Best Buy a couple of years ago, and I think they retailed for around $15.00 then. I haven't seen "It!" in at least twenty years, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.
