I just picked up "The Old Dark House" (1932), which is directed by James Whale. My horror tastes focus more on the old school Universal pictures. Not really a product of the new stuff being bad, just that when it is too realistic it scares the crap out of me. -
I saw the late show of that during opening weekend, the two beers prior to the movie were doing me no good during the middle of "Death proof".Leave a comment:

I picked up GRINDHOUSE on Blu-ray this past week. I already had the two individual movies ("Planet Terror" and "Death Proof"), but I now finally have it as it was meant to be seen. It was fun sitting through the whole thing in one shot and finally seeing the three trailers in between the two films. I wish I managed to catch it when it played theatrically.Leave a comment:

I FINALLY got around to buying the Universal Frankenstein Legacy collection. Looking forward to sharing the REAL monster with my son. He's only seen him in his later appearances as a lumbering doofus. No slight to Glenn Strange, but Karloff's monster was a fascinating character, not just a walking set piece.

I just got 28 Weeks Later. I've never seen it. I saw and own 28 Days Later (it scares me everytime) so I figured I'd pick up the sequel since it was 5 bucks. Now I just need the courage to watch it.Leave a comment:

I saw Phantom of Paradise a week ago and had never seen it before. I saw Suck because Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop were in it, but it wasn't too good. I watched about half of Black Devil Doll and still have to finish it. It's bad in a good way. I have Shockwaves, Torso, and Duel on deck.
Torso is strangely amazing watched it last summer and duel is a classic shockwaves is a bit F$$$@k up but still koolLeave a comment:
