Oh yeah, The Thing is awesome, one of my top 10 favorite horror flicks. Prince of Darkness isn't too bad. It isn't going to win any awards, but it DOES have one of the best and creepiest endings of any horror flick I have ever seen, if not THE creepiest.
Prince of Darkness messed with my 14 year old mind quite a bit. Very disturbing as I recall.

13 bucks, i think. Worth it for The Thing or They Live alone.

This week I picked up several new DVDs. I ordered three from Amazon:
    Gorgo
    The Valley of Gwangi
    The Giant Behemoth
    At Wal-Mart I picked up:
    Wolf
    Dog Soldiers
And today at Big Lots I found a copy of the original "The Stepford Wives". Some day I'll catch up on all the unwatched movies I have piled by the TV

I picked up the new MST3K box set, Crawling Eye and Blood Waters of Dr Z are the two horror titles in there. It's not my favourite of the box sets but still the little extras are nice.

I just noticed yesterday that my local Wal-Mart has a big selection of vampire and werewolf movies available again, no doubt because "New Moon" is hitting DVD shortly. Most of the titles are movies they've carried before, but I did notice a few new choices:
    Wolf (Jack Nicholson)
    Dog Soldiers
    Jess Franco's Dracula (Christopher Lee)
another version of Dracula featuring Jack Palance
I didn't notice any Hammer offerings this time, and frankly most of the rest of the movies are ones I have no interest in. All of these movies were $7.50 each. On the other side of the same kiosk, they had a selection of sword & sorcery films, including three Harryhausen titles:
    The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
    Clash of the Titans
    The Mysterious Island
These were $6.00 each. There's also a selection of Academy Award winning films, which includes "Gods and Monsters", the James Whale biopic. Get thee to Wal-Mart!

    I recently picked up:
The Monster That Challenged the World/It! The Terror From Beyond Space double DVD
Icons of Horror Collection: Sam Katzman, which includes:
    The Giant Claw
    Creature with the Atom Brain
    Zombies of Mora Tau
    The Werewolf
I watched "The Giant Claw" and "Creature with the Atom Brain" yesterday/this morning. Great 50's-style monster movies!

I went on a Zombie bender last week. I got 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, Dawn of the Dead ( the newer one), Zombie Diaries and also watched Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland, which I bought a while back. FUN!
