I usually have favorites in different categories (technician, brawler, talker, flyer,
gimmick, etc) but I'll throw that out the window now. It's tough to name only 5!

    1. Ric Flair-great technician, can brawl, phenomenal on the mic and can have a great match with just about anyone. Is just as good as a face and a heel

2.Piper-Greatest heel of all time and best talker of all time IMO. Great brawler.I agree with toys2cool -he is the nicest celebrity I ever met-very humble and soft spoken

    3. Jushin Lyger/Muta (tie)-Lyger is the greatest junior of all time IMO. Muta's hand spring elbow & moonsaults ruled.

4.Great Sasuke/Sabu (tie)- Great Sasuke is an unreal flyer. Sabu is one of the most ripped off wrestlers of all time. So many people stole from him and he doesn't get the credit he deserves. The facdt that he can get up and walk after all he has done in 20 years blows my mind.

    5. Steve Corino/Homicide (tie) One of the best matches I have seen ever was between these 2 in Fairfield,CT for ROH. The heat was off the chart. Both are really underrated IMO

HONORABLE MENTION: Goldust. One of the greatest gimmicks of all time IMO. Dustin took this to the extreme

Not a huge wrestling fan, but I followed it pretty closely a few times, once when I was 8-14 (during Hogan and Piper's heyday) and then again a few years back when the Rock and Stone Cold were at their most popular.

      My faves would be:
      1. Hogan: His public image changed alot over the years, but he original "Hulkamania" Hogan was the closest thing to a real-life "Superman" type most kids are going to get.

      2. Macho Man: Oooooh YEAH. The dude is just nuts. Plus he lived in my hometown for a while. When him and Hogan became "The Super Powers" it was like Superman and Spider-Man become partners.

      3. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper: I knew I was supposed to hate him, but I couldn't. He was just too funny. Plus he was in "They Live"!

      4. The Rock: The guy has chrasima oozing from his pours. Saw him up close in action about 4 rows back during his first days of real popularity when he was still a heel. Great showman.

      5. Ricky the Dragon Steamboat: That guy could MOVE.

Seems like Roddy is the most popular wrestler of all time .....

He might not be number-1, but he keeps popping up on almost everyone's list

        THAT's COOL

          hulk hogan
          ric flair
          sting
          macho man
          bret hart

i think the reason no one has shawn michaels on the list if that he cannot carry a company like the others listed. when he was the main event wrestler for the wwf from 1992 to 1995 wrestling was at its low point. he is charasmatic and a great athlete but he just isn't top five material

Shawn Woulda Been in my top 10... But we didn't get that. Hell I didn't even Name Hogan or the Warrior,.. Perhaps I shoulda . ... After seeing what Jeff Hardy Does,.. this guy Breaks Himself on a Regular Basis,... He Fantasitc as Well... There are so many good ones,.. that break themselves in the name of entertainment. I really realized this a Few Weeks back,.. when Flair Retired,.. His speach for the Hall of Fame was quite Moving.

Best Big Man: Andre the Giant. Scary big, like nothing anyone has seen before. (honorable mention to The Big Show, Paul Wight. A much better athlete, and he honors Andre with his mere presence)

Best Luchador: Mil Mascaras - Nothing was better than watching WWWF wrestlers fight to unmask him, finally succeeding, only to find another mask underneath. (Honorable Mention to Rey Mysterio for keeping the tradition alive in the US and being the best small man ever)

Best Microphone Skills: The Rock. No one has ever been able to cut a promo and play to the audience with his skill. (honorable mention to Chris Jericho, who is probably has the best combination of wrestling skills to mike ability as anyone. Another 30 to 40 pounds and 4 inches, and he'd probably be the most famous wrestler in the WWE right now)

Best Technical Wrestler: Dean Malenko. The Man of 1000 holds lived up to his name. Just too small with absolutely no personality to live up to his potential. (honorable mention: Bret Hart, who was probably the best technical wrestler of all the major superstars we've seen)

Best Superstar: Hulk Hogan. Made more out of nothing but a look and a set of biceps than anyone could ever hope for. (honorable mention to The Rock, who could have possibly been bigger in wrestling, but has made a smart decision by leaving at the height of his career for acting, and pulling it off. If he makes some better role choices, he could be as big as Stallone or Schwarzenegger.)

Sexiest Female Wrestler: Gail Kim, she just does it for me (honorable mentions to Gorgeous George and Major Gunns for just looking like they'd be nasty in bed)

Best Oddball Wrestler: George "The Animal" Steele. Hairy Chest. Green Tongue. Eating the Corner Mats to expose the steel. What more could you ask for? (honorable mention: The Moon Dogs, Spot and Rex. I loved those guys)

Best Valet: Miss Elizabeth. RIP. She defined the role, and helped some of the biggest names get over. When your roster includes Macho Man, Hulk, Flair, Dusty Rhodes and even cheesy Lex Luger, you've done right. (honorable mention: Sunny.)

Best Manager: Captain Lou Albano. The best of a very talented era of managers that included Classie Freddie Blassie, Bobby Heenan and Mr. Fuji. (all honorable mentions)

Best Midget Wrestler: Sky Low Low. The Andre the Giant of midgets. Saw him wrestle in person, and he must have been near 50, but was still an amazing athlete. (honorable mention: None.)

Best Announcer: Gordon Solie. He was without equal. JR couldn't shine his shoes.

I still watch wreslting now but for me the older days were alot more fun. I chose my top five as personalities (there were/are many who wrestle better on a techincal side)

Hulk Hogan - he made me a mark for wrestling in the 80's
Sgt Slaughter - really nice guy, gi joe figure, and the cobra clutch really hurts - great finsher
Sting - pre crow days he had the face paint of warrior with wrestling ability and mic skills
The outsiders (I know they were each great on their own but together they ruled wreslting)
Rowdy Roddy Piper - King of the heels and Piper's pit was the prototype for every wreslter conducted interview segment since

                            just missed the cut
                            HHH - Best today
                            Andre -
Chris Jericho - especially in his WCW days
HBK - more so on his days with Janetti and pre neck injury
                            The Rock

                              For tag-teams, I always loved the Indian's..

Chief J Strongbow and Billy Whitewolf.

I still remember their matches against the Executioners.
