You're an American, you think Belgium is France.

Holland is the region in the western part of the Netherlands.

My comment was actually a little joke.

Seriously, most American's call the Netherlands "Holland"

My brother-in-law is Dutch/American and even HE calls the Netherlands "Holland"

Tune in next week, when we'll be talking about fries, and the fact that they are Belgian fries, not French!

                        I have one

Why is Denmark considered a Nordic country but Finland sometimes isn't ?

Most of Denmark is connected to the main European continent so it really shouldn't be Nordic, right ?

It is a geographic vs. linguistic issue.

Geographically, Norway, Sweden, and Finland are considered part of Scandinavia but the word means the Nordic regions which make up the countries Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
