If there is any doubt about needing a play-off, take a look at how the coach's votes breakdown. It is easy to see a lot of them were politicking including the Head Coach of my main team (I think that is what ****es me off the most, but every one of them did it). It's freaking ridiculous. USATODAY.com - USATODAY.com - 2007 final Top 25 football coaches' ballots
(It's interactive...hover over the coach's name to reveal the vote)
Polls are a crock. Gotta find a way to take the politics and human emotion out of it by letting winner take all in a tournament.
(Edited to add: When taken as a whole, I think the result is a pretty fair representation, but you can see a bias among the coaches who have "a horse in the race" and yes, I fully realize that includes Bob Stoops.")
When Darren McFadden and the lowly Razorbacks run Hog Wild all over Mizzou in the Cotton Bowl, then it will make sense why they didn't make it to a BCS bowl.

It wouldn't surprise me to see all the SEC teams win out ....... except Georgia.
Why you ask? GO HAWAII!!!!! THAT'S WHY! My predition is Hawaii 37 Georgia 24. I think Georgia was playing so well because they're an emotional team. Over a month off will hurt them.
Twenty four days before Christmas, in a state in the south,
Les Miles was ****ed as he opened his mouth.
“Miles to Michigan,” was reported as fact.
To which Miles responded, “Herbie you don’t know jack!”
The Tigers had suffered a gut wrenching loss,
At the hands of McFadden and the rest of the hogs.
And Bo in his sweatshirt, and Miles in his Hat.
Were determined to prove they were better than that!
When the Tennessee Vols ran out on the field,
There were ruckus applause from the mentally ill.
Still in the locker room, Les told his team,
“This season ain’t over. We still have a dream.”
The hurt throwing arm of QB Matt Flynn
Meant Ryan was the man they put their faith in.
Then the fans all heard, what Les said in the Dome.
“I ain’t goin’ anywhere. I’m happy. I’m Home!”
The fans were still thinking “This might be a trick.”
‘til someone pointed out “Hey, this guy ain’t Nick!”
The Hat took the field for this championship game,
And he brought all his Tigers, and he called them by name;
“Now, Hester! Now, Early! Now, Highsmith and Putt!
Let’s let ‘er rip and shut these guys up!
Take to the field Men! Give it your all!
Then later we’ll watch numbers 1 & 2 fall.”
The fans still weren’t sure as to what team would show,
The Virginia Tech game seemed like so long ago.
But there in the stands, the fans they did cheer,
As Perrilloux played his game of the year.
While out in Ar-Kansas, the hogs claimed the boot,
The Tigers were focused on far better loot.
With the game knotted up, Ainge threw a quick out
But Zenon was ready and took six to the house.
He wore a LSU jacket, and a white turtle neck,
The same as he wore when his team beat La Tech.
With the hat on his head, and a childish grin,
Les put his team in the title picture again.
His smile-how it widened! as Pitt won its game!
He cheered Oklahoma, when it did the same.
The stars were aligning, it couldn’t be true.
Turns out Miles WAS destined, to play O-S-U.
With a month to prepare and a month to heal up,
That "DAMN Strong Team" is sure to Show Up.
He ain’t going to Michigan, and we’re sure of that.
But Tressel and the Buckeyes should still Fear The Hat!
On December first, he called L-S-U home.
Then set up the Tigers, to play again in the Dome.
It soon will be legend, how Les started that day,
“Can’t talk now. . . . I’m busy. . . . [Y’all] have a GREAT day!”
You know, the last time I heard this much talk about how much of a shoo-in a team was to win the national title was in 2002. Miami was unbeatable. Kellen Winslow was a soldier. Quite alot of talk last year as well, Florida didn't have a prayer. Smith/Ginn were gonna run the score up. I'm not saying LSU isn't the better team, but lets at least play the game. I have yet to hear one national analysist pick the Buckeyes.

well that game should've gone to Miami, that was one of the worst PI calls ever and the latest if i might add.The pass goes incomplete, the refs look at each other for like 3 minutes and when they see the crowd was going crazy they throw the flag. But w/e,what's done is done I guess (no hard feelings against OSU)

GO LSU!!
Man, I remember that and when Will Allen and Willis McGahee (whose name got called in the Monday Night Game as I was typing this) got tangled up. That was almost as bad as Joe Theisman's Monday Night Mishap.

You must be a Miami fan. They are the only ones still talking about that pass interference call.
Watch the tape again, the flag was thrown right away, the call was legit, it simply should have been holding instead of pass interference--the result would have been the same. The refs could also have called a face mask penalty. Somebody made this very nice video to explain it all: YouTube - Ohio State vs Miami - Pass Interference? Replay + Analysis.
The point is we were supposed to be destroyed in that game, and legitimately ended up winning. Still the most exciting game I have ever seen, and my top sports memory, until the Indians win the World Series that is.
