It's official the BCS is crap. LSU jumping from #7 to #2? Not to mention 2 losses! And Mizzou getting shut out? The 3 best teams Georgia, USC and Oklahoma out of the NC game. Not a fan of any of those teams but one of them desrve to be there. Strength of schedule? That's dertermined by the BCS by THEIR rankings. Just don't see it.

I had to witness that game in person, had a great time though... We had lower level EndZone seats, I had a close up view of the interception run back, man I had high hopes... We definitely beat ourselves, poor Ainge!!Leave a comment:

Hey SEC best divison in CB. They have to beat on each other all year and looks like we will back again this year to take a NC. I wish it was the Gators but maybe next year.

LSU is #2 in AP and Coaches polls. Harris Poll not out yet. So if LSU does not make it to the NC and wins the Sugar Bowl and Ohio State loses the NC, there will be a split NC again. I bet LSU fans would not complain about this split.
LSU had the toughest schedule than all the other teams in the running. LSU palyed 6 top 25 teams, this is what is helping them the most.Leave a comment:

I agree that Oklahoma has just as good an argument as LSU, maybe better since they beat the #1 team in the country decisively, while LSU just squeaked by Tennessee. I honestly don't know who deserves to be in the game, I mean Georgia did finish third in their conference after all--but should these teams be able to jump them? This just proves that the ranking system means nothing. Ohio State gets in by not playing basically and it's gonna be LSU barring something unforeseen (Herbstreet?) but this season has shown that you can't count anything out--who knows.Leave a comment:

What a big nightmare the BCS has turned out to be.
I associate the BCS with Professor Fink (of The Simpsons) standing next to the "Champ-U-Tron 9000" saying, "Now we can determine a Champion without playing a single game. What with the running and tackling and pummeling....goy."
Every other sport has a playoff. Heck, every other level of football has a playoff system including the NFL, NCAA Division I-AA, Division II, Division III, NAIA, Junior College, and High School. Why the heck is Division I-A so hell-bent on resisting a playoff?
If you think about it, we have a little over 5 Weeks to go until a National Champion is crowned. They could take a week off, play a sixteen team tournament, determine the two teams to play on December 29th, and still have a week off before the National Championship Game on January 7th.
This BCS is a crock and leaves too many questions like "What about Hawaii?" and if LSU is the logical choice to play Ohio State, why does the logic used to come to that conclusion exclude Oklahoma and USC?
I'm not totally opposed to LSU leapfrogging Georgia and having a shot at the NC, but what makes them automatically favored over Oklahoma? In many ways, their situations are virtually identical. If I consider the reasons for LSU, I have to account for Oklahoma having a legitimate argument, too.Last edited by saildog; Dec 2, '07, 12:53 PM.Leave a comment:

I think you are right, but Pappa Bowden is a force of such pure goodness and light, that he was able to sense that there was still good in Mark and bring him back from the brink of the darkside.Actually wasn't Mark a QB for the Canes in the 80's?
A little.i didn't know you were a Noles fan?

Wasn't born in Tallahassee, and I don't live there now, but I was raised there and went to high school there. Wife went to FSU. I spent enough time on campus partying and chasing girlies (pre wife) that I probably logged more hours there than many students.
The Noles are in my blood and it is for life.

all I know is that the buckeyes are IN. I don't care who we play at this point. I think either Georgia or LSU have a very good chance at beating us. But hey, can't win if you don't get to play.Leave a comment:

Actually wasn't Mark a QB for the Canes in the 80's?I encourage you to root for Ga in the event of such a game. Mark Richt is a Seminole, therefore he is a polite, intelligent, thoughtful individual, and he smells great!
If I can't root for my Noles at the end, then I fall back on teams with former Seminole coaches on staff and any other assorted Bowdens that might still be playing.
