What a game, one of the best in the tournament as Germany ran out 3-2 winners over Uruguay.

The game literally went down to the last kick as Uruguay hit the bar and then the game finished.

Congrats to both teams and they should both be very intresting at the next world cup.

What was up with Muslera is my question. If he played like that at the beginning, Uruguay would have gone home in the first week.

At least it was a truly beautiful game. Exciting and fun.

I do wish Uruguay could have done better, but at least they can say they weren't spanked 4-0 ala Argentina.

In fact, you can say it wasn't that Germany was the better team today so much, it's that Uruguay played it's worse today.

Onto the finals... not that I really care who wins there.

as a South American, i was happy with Uruguay's game today... Poor Forlan, what a tough break that last attempt...SPain will take it tomorrow for sure..Holland 2nd..Brazil will be winners in 2014 100%...Remember i said this..Brazil has already started to clean out the fat off there team, should be a work of art what they have in 4 years..

In fact, you can say it wasn't that Germany was the better team today so much, it's that Uruguay played it's worse today.

I think Uruguay played pretty good...with the exception of your goalie...he was atrocious today.

The thing about the third place match...is that defense goes out the door...it always becomes a high scoring game...this applies to all the previous third place matches in the past as well. There's no pressure...less organization...and thus the game becomes more wide open for counter attacks.

Amazing...Uruguay barely qualified...they finished fifth in South American qualifiers...and had to face fourth place CONCACAF finisher Costa Rica in a double elimination playoff to make it to the World Cup....and they outlasted Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay.

Congrats to tiny Uruguay (3.5 million, second smallest in the tournament)...they have regained their past glory as one of the World Cup's elite teams...two time World Cup winners...you can't never take that away from them...

I kinda felt bad that Suarez got booed, loudly every time he got the ball. He blew some possible gol opportunities, due to be psyched out, I believe.
