It's actually pretty amazing that only 18 World Cups have been held and 3 countries have won 12 of them....Brazil, Italy, and Germany.

First couple of days we get 3 matches a day at different times, next couple of days we get 4 matches, 2 at the same time, now we get no matches at all. Weird schedule

Probably to say that South America as a continent plays the best futbol in the World. There is something to be said about having home field advantage even if it isn't your particular country. Different climates, altitudes, time zones, etc.

Looking at the teams right now, I am going to say Germany/Brazil in the finals with Germany winning although I am really pulling for the Netherlands. Maybe it is because they have a team that can win it all but never can quite do it.

Hat's off to the Uruguay, Paraguay, and Ghana but this is realistically down to five teams and after Germany/Argentina and Brazil/Netherlands....we'll be down to 3 teams with any realistic chance unless Spain gets upset then we'll know our championship game by the weekend.

Hmmm, then this World Cup will be extra interesting. This is the 19th WC, so far South American teams have won 9 times and Europeans teams have won 9 times, who will win the 10th first?

I have always liked the Dutch team.

When I lived in Mexico during a couple of World Cups...the Mexican national team was their favorite team of course...then Brazil...but Mexicans always had a place in their hearts for Netherlands (referred by Mexicans as Holanda)...the Dutch team was easily Mexico's third favorite team.

Like I've said as well...Brazil better be careful...
