Found out one of the three Subways restaurants in my town is back serving breakfast, Last time it was more like an omelette, this time it's just fried eggs that are individually frozen.
So I was wondering if I could add eggs to a salad. Living with an Asian means eating combos I never thought about.

Nice idea but those eggs are rubbery. Not to mention the two eggs cost an extra $1.50. I can cook my own eggs and only spend 60 cents.Leave a comment:

DUH! I forgot to tell ya whaat they put on it. "RED" Sauce (Tomato) sweet peppers ( Green peppers), HOT peppers (they put "Giardiniera" on it and that CHET makes me break out) It's supposed to be Jalapeno peppers! But even that is too mild for me so I get SPORTS Peppers on there.,
And how is there BEEF? it's okay, nothing to write home about. Just avoid the pizza!

Sorry having trouble posting pictures.
Ricobene's used to have FOUR locations all on the Southside. (HAHAHHA) and sadly on the main one in Bridgeport is left, Why?
Welll the steak sandwich used to be pretty GREAT. But over the years the must have cut back on the QUALITY of meat they were using. It is STILL a GOOD Sandwich, but it is NOT a GREAT Sandwich like it used to be. Doesn't help that their Bridgeport location has crappy parking and they actually have a GREAT SLOPPY JOE and they make a good burger. AVOID the Pizza it is "Tavern style" (Sits under a light for HOURS).
Life. I tell ya.Leave a comment:

Went to the Doctor's yesterday. On the way back I stopped at RICOBENE'S a Chicago/Southside Tradition.
I have been told their is a "Streaming" show ( UGH!) Called the BEAR, about morons working in a dive making Italian beefs! Well since it's streamig, I have no clue about it and honestly, I am sure it's crap.
Anyway...
Ricobene's is known for making Breaded steaks. They have been doing it for eons as you can see.

Found an unusual item at the Asian grocery stores: Spider-man YILI cheese sticks. It's NOT American cheese sticks but it tastes so good.

Today's Home cooking Pork ribs & veggies
Bought HEB: $17.65 ($4.41 a plate for 4)
Had a request to cook boiled ribs for two old southerners.
Pork Ribs...$11.29
Cabbage...$1.87
Potatoes...20 cents each...$1.60
Summer squash blend:
Yellow squash...53 cents
Zucchini...62 cents
Calabaza...74 cents
Carrots...32 cents
Green bell pepper...68 cents
The ribs are boiled in water for a few hours then added BBQ sauce. Most of the cabbage was chopped up and boiled with a little bacon grease and 2 strips of leftover bacon. The summer squash was sauteed. Potatoes were boiled in butter water.
Remember cooking for elderly southern parents so the only spices are salt, pepper and butter. I know the color looks bland but I am out of the eggplant and colorful bell peppers. It's Sunday dinner so I do not mind spending a little more.
