Early this morning boyfriend ran out of something (still not sure what) and made a Walmart run but did come home with Pride cupcakes.
The problem is we usually do not eat cakes, and I think the main reason he picked them up was he wanted the plastic rainbow rings. PXL_20240609_131023321.jpg
This morning I had to go to town to get yard tools so we stopped by a local dinner for breakfast. I always order there version of huevos ranchero. PXL_20240608_145144672~2.jpg
Today's lunch for 4: Salisbury steak with homemade mashed potatoes and gravy with peas & green beans. The only thing new was a can of biscuits.
Another meal where buying on bulk saves. Awhile back we picked up a package a uncooked burgers, separated them into 4 patties bundles. Since the veggies are home grown we save lots of money.
Had a late lunch with parents so today we are the other half of the BBQ pork ribs with potato salad and coleslaw. It's funny how my boyfriend really likes potato salad, an item he never had back in his home country.
For the record this cost under $3 a plate for the 4 of us. Eating at home for at least one or two meals a day can stretch your money if you can cook.
Today's big meal was another old family recipe:
Left over baked potatoes with shredded brisket and cheese. After we left the theater last night we stopped at the gas station and they just packed up there leftovers so we got a deal on there brisket $11. So for a family of 4 that's not a bad meal.
Dad really wanted pizza so we took him to Pizza Hut since there lunch buffet is $10 each and that includes a drink. It's bad when it cost the same to go out to eat as it would to eat at home for pizza.
Today boyfriend and I made lunch: Grilled steaks and back potatoes with garden salad. This cost under $20 because the veggies came from the garden. The shred cheese I use a big bag so I don't figure that into the price. PXL_20240515_202506722.jpg
Day off today, gonna TRY to make Chili, got the ground beef defrosting, Hope it turns out ok, Gonna go run and hit McDonalds real fast for lunch as I have lotsa housework to do today.
Well we are not eating our much anymore. Today had to take Dad to the doctor out of town and he wanted to get something to eat before we went home. The bill was $15 each (4). Boyfriend & I got the daily special: Grilled porkchops with mashed potatoes & shrimp gumbo. Dad got a burger & fries while Mom got grilled cheese & tomato soup.

Since I took the whole family out yesterday, today we are having what was planned on Sunday Dinner:
BBQ pork ribs with sweet potatoes and cabbage and corn on the cob with a side salad of tomatoes and cucumbers soaked in apple cider vinegar PXL_20240513_213034214.jpg
I DID get New China Express Friday and I am having two day old Pepper Beef along with Hot & Sour soap! OOPS! SOUP!
Pretty good as most places don't put mushrooms in their H&S soup, but this place does and they pie them on!! Of course I always have them make it extra SPICY! Gotta keep my gastroenterologist in business!
Tomorrow, a kosher Baloney sandwich for lunch with a roma tomato and a banana washed down with a can of Mr. PIBB!
Weird day for me. I fried up two Ballpark low fat beef hotdogs for breakfast and had em with mustard on pan-toasted buns. Lunch was leftover Wendy's chili, but I couldn't find the crackers to crush into it. "Is this them?" asked the wife as she pulled them out of the trash can. Yup, and I used em. "I had put them on top of clean trash." Thanks. Dinner was a pair of 93% lean burgers w/ reduced fat Land o' Lakes American cheese, mustard, and Bill Gray's hot sauce (fr Buffalo NY). And I think I'm about to put away a few Busch NA brews. Tomorrow, I may actually eat something that photosynthesized.
Had to take Dad to a Doctor appt so today we ate at the hospital. For $7 a plate we got Shepard's Pie with black-eyed peas and a cornbread muffin. PXL_20240510_192942674.jpg
Today's big meal was spaghetti and meatballs. Well the meat is from those veggie ground beef and meatballs. We also make our own garlic bread using leftover hotdog buns or hamburger buns
I feel like one of those parents sneaking in veggies so there kid will eat them. My father is overweight so I have had to replace some items just to get him to eat healthy. It is a challenge. PXL_20240509_193738841.MP.jpgPXL_20240509_193912300.jpg
