Egg & bacon omelette with biscuit & gravy potato chips.
    2 Eggs (31 cents each)
2 Bacon crumbled (50 cents each)
    Shredded cheese
Bag of chips $2 (.25 small handful)

    Total per plate $2.

Now you can taste the gravy spices on the chips so this does add to the breakfast.

This weekend we were able to catch some fresh fish (Reds) so my Dad wanted a fish fry. The problem was I had to go to town to pick up the rest of dinner. Worked out because my local grocery store had a meal deal: fried shrimp (42 cooked and frozen) and get bag a fries free. So after picking up coleslaw to add some color to the mix.

    Shrimp....$15 for 42 Fries...free (meal deal)
    Hush puppies..$3
    Coleslaw...$2

Total $20 for a serving of 5 (4 + leftover plate for Dad and still have shrimp for another meal). Not bad for $4 a plate.

Hurricane food: Since we will not get electricity for three days, we are running on generator. This means hurry up food. Boyfriend and I shared a bowl of rice, 2 fried eggs, grilled ham and tomato.

Before the hurricane comes through I cooked a large meal for my parents.
BBQ seasoned chicken leg quarters with chicken pasta and southern season Lima beans with tomatoes.

    Picked this up at @HEB $9 ($3 a plate).
    Chicken....$5 (6 leg quarters)
    Pasta family size.....$2
    Lima beans...$2

There was enough leftovers so that they could eat another meal Monday.
