This weekend we were able to catch some fresh fish (Reds) so my Dad wanted a fish fry. The problem was I had to go to town to pick up the rest of dinner. Worked out because my local grocery store had a meal deal: fried shrimp (42 cooked and frozen) and get bag a fries free. So after picking up coleslaw to add some color to the mix.
Shrimp....$15 for 42 Fries...free (meal deal)
Hush puppies..$3
Coleslaw...$2
Total $20 for a serving of 5 (4 + leftover plate for Dad and still have shrimp for another meal). Not bad for $4 a plate.

Beef and broccoli (with Korean bulgogi-style marinade sauce) with jasmine rice and stir-fry summer squashes (yellow crookneck squash, zucchini, long eggplant, tatuma) & cabbage.

Hurricane food: Since we will not get electricity for three days, we are running on generator. This means hurry up food. Boyfriend and I shared a bowl of rice, 2 fried eggs, grilled ham and tomato.

Before the hurricane comes through I cooked a large meal for my parents.
BBQ seasoned chicken leg quarters with chicken pasta and southern season Lima beans with tomatoes.
Picked this up at @HEB $9 ($3 a plate).
Chicken....$5 (6 leg quarters)
Pasta family size.....$2
Lima beans...$2
There was enough leftovers so that they could eat another meal Monday.

For Independence Day had a full frozen box of Friday's honey bbq wings ... (real - in bone)
Shame I heard these were going to be discontinued very soon --- along with most things carrying the Friday's name.
Oh well, like George said, "Everything Must Pass"
Cheers Gents
