It must get very hot if it is molded to your facial features. Do you have to worry about leaving some skin un-applied like they do with body paint?
I think it will be very hot because you have to wear two layers of clothes with a neckwrap, AND a wig. The weird thing is that I can actually breathe in through the Apemania foam latex when it's over my nose (but then again, it wasn't glued on)...but even if it were, I would not put glue over my nostrils and would still be able to breathe in through the foam latex if warranted.
I think enough parts of me will remain unpainted/unglued, and enough apes went through the ordeal and lived to tell about it, so I'm not particularly worried. Besides, I get cold very easily so I'm not that worried about getting too hot.
Have you been practicing your facial expressions? I remember hearing that that was the hardest part (trying to act through the mask).
Have to get someone to put a short video up to show you in action at the convention. Still pictures won't give the full effect.
No. As a general rule I try not to flex my face too much, because I don't want to get wrinkles.
Dan and Tom are going to videotape the ordeal, of me getting made up. We'll see how that goes. Dan said in 2008 when they went to the SF Wondercon, it took 5.5 hours to get made up and only had a few hours left on the last day of the Wondercon.
I've done face casts, and have been subjected to one.
Very claustrophobic.
The casting material is very cold at first (like being submerged in icy water), then gets very hot as it congeals.
Not a pleasant experience, especially if they mess up the nostrils (and your air supply).
