Look at the beautiful profile created at the top of her hairline...two strands of hair at a time!!

This is really fantastic. Hopefully, you don't feel claustrophobic in the whole gear.
      It's all good!

Some of my makeup has arrived finally! When I get home I'm going to do some test swatches of Pros-Aide and adhere a small amount of foam latex onto one arm, and on the other arm I'm going to make a test swatch of the matte lace adhesive.

I don't know why but the rubber mask grease makeup smells so fantastically yummy!! OMG it smells so wonderfully delicious!!

I better remember to purchase some 99% rubbing alcohol on my way home so that I could start the paintup of the foam latex with the rubber mask grease makeup.

        This is so fun!!!

Funny how the world works. The grease makeup is made in Germany and packed in San Francisco. I purchased it from a store in New York, and that's where the box was delivered from. This palette of rubber mask grease is a world traveller!!

For those that don't know, my personalized Zira appliance from my makeup crew is in limbo until Dan gets better.

Pushing forward, Apemania was there for the rescue. This was the first time I painted foam latex, and it's quite different from painting an action figure head, that's for sure!! I purchased this as a "raw" Zira appliance, but Apemania had an unused extra pre-painted one from their last European tour so they did all of the hard work for me.

I had to resculpt the top set of teeth (used Apoxie) because the ones from Apemania were too long. I still have to find clear matte powder to prevent shine back from flash photography. Anybody know a good one to use?

Here is how she came as I ordered her (definitely not raw)

And after I added rubber mask grease paint on her:

Yesterday I also braided my hair and pinned the heck out of it so that I could put on my wig. Everything fit under the wig, so I don't have to cut my hair. I also put on the other hair pieces--just dabbed Pros-Aide to tack it in place. I was definitely burning hot. Had to remove my third sweater. I guess if I don't wear a sweater I should be ok and not feel too hot underneath all the makeup.

I also worked on her sideburns and more hair augmentation there. I forgot all about the ears, so today I will paint those. FUN FUN FUN!!

And BTW...if you cut that long, gorgeous hair, I will find you and kick you butt! (ya know I love ya! )

Bought my ticket. Wondercon, here I come. Thank you HardyGirl for being there for me! (Family believes Jessica has gone to the Forbidden Zone and want nothing to do with a con. Whatever!! Onward and upward.)

Only thing left on my outfit is to paint the hieroglyph, add a chest pocket big enough for a notepad, MacGuyver a pen...buy some "liquid nutrition" for the day...make sure I'm stocked up on hayfever meds...what else do I need?

Going to watch Roddy's home videotapes a hundred more times...

I am the luckiest chimpette!!!! Even though I missed the masquerade deadline (didn't know you had to submit an entry form on or before Valentine's Day) to participate in the costume show...I just received word that my late entry has been accepted. Yay! HardyGirl, this means that we don't have to make the 2PM cut-off, but I will still be there by noon. The added stress of a "deadline" has been lifted!!

My costume is now complete, including the writing implement and chest pocket, and hieroglyph has been added! Four more days to go.

Will I ever remove the costume and makeup? I don't know how I possibly could!!

I removed the bottom stitching that you can see in this photograph, so it's cleaner now:
