Enjoyed it and am looking forward to watching it weekly. Not sure what some were expecting, it called "Agents of Shield" that's what was presented.

I liked it and I think it will be a good show as it gets going. and it means 1 less night a week of Dancing with the stars with my wife basically watching the clips of the night before so much the better. I got tired of NCIS 2 years ago so it has very little competition for me except when deadliest catch is on in the spring

Ratings for the premiere were strong like Hulk. It'll be interesting to see how they hold up..

I didn't see it but my seven year old went to his Grandparents and watched it with them last night. His review: "It was stupid. There weren't even any Avengers in it."

Blame the hype machine. They've been selling this thing hard since last spring. If they weren't ready, what was the hurry? The best shows over the past decade have waited until the season is mapped out. ABC is renown for rushing, which is how the Lost and Desperate Housewives debacles occurred.

Also, no one trust Jeph Loeb anymore, unfortunately. He's great for a certain amount of time, but like Bad Robot, things always seem to fall apart. Loeb can't just waltz to another project this time though, as he did with Smallville, Lost and Heroes.

For me, it's also a reinforcement of how bad Avengers Assemble is and how everything seems half-baked.

Not in a Saucerful "half-baked" kind-of-way, mind you...

Look at the idea behind the Inhumans relaunch. They're going to layer that on top of the mutant concept and it's only going to dilute the value for both. It's a leap too far for general popular consumption.

I'm in for each week, but I think it suffered from trying to throw too much into the first hour rather than making it a two-parter.

    >I can't put my finger on what it is but something about the show just doesn't seem quite right.

It's pretty close to a lot of other things, so it hasn't found it's unique schtick yet. (Which hopefully it will.) The beta cloth costumes would help.... So would an appearance or two from some of Marvel's weirder, lesser characters. Squirrel Girl is a must. Skull the Slayer would be awesome.

    >for this to be "Level 7" the agents seem to be awfully clumsy, inexperienced and inefficient

WARNING: Nerd Alert in 3.... 2....

A level 7 agent isn't an independant operative. Level 6's are. 7's are more like the noname troops that would ineffectively swarm the villain after someone important pointed and yelled "Gett'm!" (I know this 'cos we just finished a Marvel RPG campaign a few weeks back wherein the characters were all SHIELD agents.)

I enjoyed it. show has great potential. I hope they wear shield uniforms though, the suit thing is too generic

I'm hopeful. These types of show usually take a while to find their voice and this first episode was interesting. I'll stick with it for awhile.

I should say it's a major letdown, but Whedon's always been overrated glommer, so it's about what expected. I had hope with some of other people involved, but this Coulson crap is just fanboyism run amuck. He's never been a lead actor for a reason.

This actually causes a problem for Disney. If the show doesn't drastically improve, ratings will hemorrhage and that will effect the Marvel's non-franchise value because this is out there every week. It creates more of a reliance on the movie stars - RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, - which is what Marvel and Disney are trying to avoid as a way to contain costs.

Thor 2 better be a standout. If it gets the same reaction, not good for 2014. Lot of mediocre crap from Marvel starting with IM3, which is the first truly Disneyfied Marvel production. Money returns are still riding the Avengers residual.

meh, sorry didn't feel it. Thought the cast was corny and cliche' except I liked Chun Li Ming-Na Wen otherwise, unless we see Marvel B heroes, this show will fizzle like Heroes did.....

The show was okay but didn't hook me. I appreciate the production quality of the effects but the overall look and feel seems too distant from the movie-verse... Plus for this to be "Level 7" the agents seem to be awfully clumsy, inexperienced and inefficient. Plus the Agent Coulson from the movie aspect seemed to be far and above this ensemble of characters. The only exception being the one reluctant agent who didn't want to return to field work (Melinda May) even though she was the only one that seemed worthy of the "Level 7" designation. Also, I did like seeing Ron Glass on the show. Something about his look and mannerisms just works for me. Here's to hope for Abe Vigoda to make a guest appearance

I can't put my finger on what it is but something about the show just doesn't seem quite right. Perhaps I'm being too picky but considering the planning and money that was available for the show I guess I was looking for something just a little bit "more". I don't know. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if my fanboy needs are met.

Maybe the minority but not alone. I felt the same.
I was hoping for more of the Marvel heroes feel and not the spy game feel. I'll keep watching for now.

Very solid start. I like that they are keeping a light and fun touch to this. It's not a standard gritty "24" type show set in the Marvel Universe. I'm sure things will get pretty heavy at times (see Buffy, Angel, etc.) but the sheer FUN of the show was a welcome change to most action shows on TV these days. Looking back at any great series, the pilot is NEVER the best episode. Going by that, I expect great things from this show.

    SPOILERS

Seeing the old SHIELD flying car was a hoot. I expected as much when "Lola" was introduced. Coulson is a LMD, clone, android....? Very interesting, and so glad it wasn't that he just flatlined for 40 seconds and came back. Hard to come back from his Avengers injury!!!

"With great power comes really weird crap." Great start. Hope they can keep the quality going. Great to see Ron Glass back on an ABC show.
