A great start for sure! Lots of humor, action, and tense filled scenes.
Joss Whedon has done it again! The writing was spectacular, especially with addressing everything that happened in The Avengers (and the other films too). It’s a smart move that they’re regarding the aftermath of the battle of New York as “A new world.” Nothing is in the shadows as it used to be anymore, now we all know of their existence.
The acting was great, and all of the new Agents were very likeable with each of their different, unique, personalities. I’m looking forward to seeing them develop more and interact with each other in future episodes.
Coulson was back and better than ever, delivering one-liners with his usually trademark wit. And I was glad to see Hill appear again, hopefully she'll be part of the entire series, and won’t just pop up randomly.
The references to the other movies were great (and there were A LOT of them) and that helped make some of the more fantastical elements believable by tying them to movies that have already been established and grounded.
And they left enough dangling threads and set-ups that made me even more hooked and left to wonder what will happen next.
All in all, I’ll definitely be tuning in every week to this well-written, suspenseful, action-packed show!

I got bored with it fairly quick. It was the supporting cast of Avengers meets "Heroes". It just kept reminding me of the main stars of the movie I wasn't seeing. I like Coulson much better as a supporting cast member, where he is more or less comic relief. Not enough screen presence to hold my interest for an hour, let alone a whole series. I couldn't help but chuckle seeing the Marvel licensed toys in the front window of that store in the opening scene. Shameless plug.

Is this a WKRP reference, or the name of a comics character I know nothing about?
If it's the former, that's Ron Glass (of Barney Miller and Firefly), not Tim Reid.
Edit: you beat me to it

Looks like I may be in the minority on my take but what everybody's got an opinion.......

The show was okay but didn't hook me. I appreciate the production quality of the effects but the overall look and feel seems too distant from the movie-verse... Plus for this to be "Level 7" the agents seem to be awfully clumsy, inexperienced and inefficient. Plus the Agent Coulson from the movie aspect seemed to be far and above this ensemble of characters. The only exception being the one reluctant agent who didn't want to return to field work (Melinda May) even though she was the only one that seemed worthy of the "Level 7" designation. Also, I did like seeing Ron Glass on the show. Something about his look and mannerisms just works for me. Here's to hope for Abe Vigoda to make a guest appearance
I can't put my finger on what it is but something about the show just doesn't seem quite right. Perhaps I'm being too picky but considering the planning and money that was available for the show I guess I was looking for something just a little bit "more". I don't know. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if my fanboy needs are met.

I thought it was okay, my attention wavered here and there. I'm sure it will get stronger...
Where was the Doc Brown "Roads?..." quote at the end?Leave a comment:

It was good to see Venus Flytrap on the show. Maybe Maria Hill will be a regular next year with this being the last year of her CBS show.
All the references to the films were cool. Maybe they could even reference Spidey, the FF and X-men indirectly.
Look like a really expensive show.Leave a comment:

I loved it. Finally, something to fill the void left by Stargate SG1 and SG: Atlantis.
Colson was great (don't remember the actor's name.). I thought the use of the truth serum was wonderful. I liked that the same actress played Maria Hill from the movie and I liked all the movie-verse connections.
Have to give the other agents time to develop into characters to see if I like any of them.

I thought the "super hero" was going to be Luke Cage but it's obvious why he was a different character. It was great how they tied in the extremis from Iron Man 3.
Something Colson can never find out about himself? Life Model Decoy, maybe, hm?

Very solid debut. I'm not sold on some of the casting, but overall this is good stuff. If they can drop little nuggets about the Marvel uni each episode, this will get very interesting. I'm in and have now set up the series to record.Leave a comment:
