Mark my words. The writers in the DC Universe are screwing stuff up on purpose.
Batman death, Multi-universe, crazy colored Lanterns..etc.
Because, they are planning to "wipe it out" and start all over when this is all over.
A "reboot" is coming. I am laying down a hundred bucks in a bet. I can just feel it. This is DC's way of doing crazy stuff "one last time" before the **** hits the fan.
When they 'reboot" you will be seeing modern versions of Batman and Dick Grayson Robin along with Barry Allen and Wally West Kid Flash. I just have a feeling.

No, somebody in a Bat-suit is dead..was it Bruce Wayne?
Who knows who it was as it was so badly written it could have been Archie Andrews...I know it wasn't Jughead since he was the one writing it.Leave a comment:

^ That is the PERFECT review for this issue! I have no idea either! The only explanation I can think of for some of the inconsistencies (besides Morrison's drug use....) is that it took 6 credited artists to illustrate this rag (I'm assuming some were inkers only but you get the point). Obviously, no one checked with each other on what they were drawing. But this is no excuse as the same thing went on when just JG Jones was the artist. So the fault more than likely probably lies with Morrison's plotting or lack thereof. From the get-go, I've felt I was only getting like a 3rd of the story with each issue I've read. A 7-issue hack job this has been, most definitely.

Well, I just read that issue and honestly, it really makes no sense whatsoever. Is anyone proofreading this before it goes to print? It's like they took three pages out of every DC comic this month and just stapled them together in random order. I can only hope that whatever drugs Grant Morrison is taking (and apparently has shared with DC editorial, such as it is) allow him to make sense of this convoluted mess for hs own enjoyment, 'cause it's certainly not for mine.
Not sure that's really Batman? The whole using the gun thing just seems wrong, but then again, I only read comics, I'm no genius like Morrison.
Seriously, I have no idea who about 50% of the new characters are, I have no idea how Batman got out of the torture device he was in, I have no idea how Batman ended up fighting Darkseid, I have no idea where Captain Marvel came from, I have no idea where Superman came from or why he was in the future, I have no idea how Hourman was on a triage table then three pages later he was back in action, I have no idea where Lex Luthor came from, I have no idea what was going on with Hawkman & Hawkgirl, I have no idea what happened with Wonder Woman infecting people, I have no idea why Lois Lane is carrying a cat around...
But basically I have no idea why I actually paid cash money for this book.Last edited by johnnystorm; Jan 14, '09, 10:58 PM.Leave a comment:

By my thinking Bruce will still be dead through "Battle for the Cowl" up until "Blackest Night" where he'll be revived as a Black Lantern alongside Aquaman and J'onn J'onzz (both have been promised to show up by Geoff Johns). I'm thinking some of the dead people have to stick after it all blows over and we'll be back to Bruce Wayne as Batman.
And I still don't think Batman has any business mucking around with the New Gods and getting killed by Darkseid. If he's gonna bite the bullet, it should be at the hands of The Joker.Leave a comment:

Maybe they are planning to do a Batman reboot and make him more like the armored one in the movies? In other words, make the folks who like the movie series find more familiarity when they peruse the books and perhaps more apt to buy them?
Not a fan of that idea, but it makes sense in a Hollywood type way.Leave a comment:

The Colored Lantern Story is great stuff....
Batman is on the Hero Cover for #6 of Crisis too....
So now, the DarkSied Kills Batman... Interesting. I wonder if the Truth about that Bruce & the New God's Rumor for about a yr & a half will become true.
Interesting stuff..
I read all day long about die hard Batman fans dropping the Tittles of Batman..., I wonder if there are that Many people that have or will drop the tittle Batman when Bruce is gone ? If thats really the case,.. with Plummiting sales for the tittles, DC 's gotta Know this is a Bad idea,.. the Batman & Detective books were at all time high's I believe this Past yr, with the DarkKnight Movie & all.. Lame.
BTW... I don't want to see Dick as Robin, or Batman. Bruce is Batman, & Tim has been Robin for a Decade & a Half ... & Wally West Has been Flash for over 22 yrs. Wasn't it 86 ? I have read all this crap for the last 20 yrs,.. & I am used to seeing stuff ,.. a certain way. The Silver Age is Dead.Last edited by BlackKnight; Jan 14, '09, 10:34 PM.Leave a comment:

Batman's fate in Final Crisis #6--MAJOR SPOILERS
Again, this has major spoilers so don't read if you don't want to know.
In a showdown with Darkseid, Batman is hit by an Omega Beam and dies. Of course, comic deaths aren't what they once were but this has fully sent me into comicdom old fogeyism. I've pretty much expected this anyway so I've already taken Batman and Detective out of my pull box and started to, instead, collect my Batman, namely #200-400 (my early reading didn't comprise all of that span but it seemed like a nice, round number.
I used to love DC but after what Didio has done (and from what I read, DC is very much top down directive) I think I'm down to two comics: Birds of Prey and Secret Six. I get BoP out of habit since Simone left and it's about to fold anyway. I'll keep getting Secret Six until the higher ups screw it up as well. (A caveat is that I like what I've read of Green Lantern in the trades.) Am I being a reactionary fanboy? Probably, but the storytelling on DC comics has went downhill fast (there's other problems as well but storytelling is so major).Tags: None
