3Amego's Guide to Degraying Heads

De-grey your Mego Heads!!

Do your megos heads suffer from unsightly grey skin? Would you like to help them to clear their skin so they are beautiful again? Well now you can! Just follow these simple steps and restore your megos to their former beauty!

Here's what you'll need:

Plastidip - Made by Performix. Found at Home Depot or other hardware stores for under $10 (www.plastidip.com )

Tire Wet - Made by Black Magic. They sell it at AutoZone and other auto parts stores.

1 Pencil for each grey head - You can buy pencils just about anywhere.

1 Cardboard Box - this is used as a holder while the heads dry.

...and lets not forget those grey heads!

The first thing you will need to do is use one of the pencils to jab a hole in the top of the box. It should be tight enough that the pencil will stand straight up. Carefully remove the head from the body and shove a pencil (eraser end, not the sharp end) up his neck! Make sure that the head is on pretty tight. If it isn't, it can fall into the Plastidip...and that sucks!

This is what poor Bo Duke looked like before treatment. Sad, isn't he.

After jabbing a pencil into the neck of your grey mego, spray his head down with Tire Wet! (you can spray the body down too if you're into that sort of thing, but it isn't nessessary). Make sure you spray him down good (until that Tire Wet is a drippin' off of him like he just got out of the the swimmin' hole).

Quickly, while the Tire Wet is still dripping, dunk his head into the Plastidip for 30 seconds then pull him out for 30 seconds and repeat.

The first time that you dunk him, a lot of the Plastidip won't stick. That's because of the tire wet. Don't worry, that's what's supposed to happen. Just keep dunking...

...and dunking...and dunking... Continue to dunk for 30 seconds then remove for 30 seconds, dunk 30 seconds, remove 30 seconds until the head is completely covered with Plastidip.

When your mego head is completely covered, jab the pencil into the top of a box. If you're like us, always buying megos online, you probably have plenty of boxes lying around your house.

The length of time you let the head dry will depend 100% on how patient you are. You have to leave it for at least 8 hours or you will be cleaning tiny pieces of plastidip out of the eyes for what will seem like an eternity. I try to wait 24 hours because that gives the Plastidip a chance to really dry and pulling it off is much easier. Also, it seems to de-grey the head a bit better. After letting it dry for between 8 and 24 hours, carefully peel the Plastidip off of the head. The first time you go through this process, it won't completely restore a seriously grey head, but I have repeated these steps up to 5 times to get a head back to it's original greatness!

The two Bo heads below looked the same before de-greying. As you can see, the process really makes a big difference! The Bo on the left went through three treatments to reach this state of color.

So what are you waiting for? Go forth and de-grey!
