The figures are absolutely outstanding. The only thing that I don't like are the pictures of the toys on the blister card. Real shame that photographs from the show weren't used instead.

Hello everyone, BBP! Lenzi here, wanted to get on the boards and clarify a couple of things. First of all, thanks so much for all the kind words about our DOCTOR WHO figures, we're extremely proud of them. Personally, they have been a dream come true, and a long, long time coming for me. GhostLord, you're right, our license covers 'classic' as well as current WHO. We wanted to launch strong with Tom Baker, and really make these waves a tribute to that time when WHO was fresh and new to America in the late 70's. If successful, we will get to all the Doctors and many of the creatures and villains, up to today. Believe me, we want to! As for the card art, which someone complained about us using pics of the figures on instead of actual photographs. I could easily sit here and write pages and pages of details on how complicated licenses can be, and how difficult studios/networks can be to deal with. Much of what we do has to be done many, many months in advance of release dates, and getting co operation from folks like the BBC is of paramount importance if those dates are to be met. While putting our designs together for our launch, the BBC was just starting to put together a 'classic' style guide, which wasn't even fully approved at the time. When it was approved and we got access to it, we were disappointed to see just how little material there was, and weren't happy with the colors and tone of it. (Very 'retro' 80's-ish, strange...). Regardless, we had no shots of Styre, the Master or the Cyberleader, so we opted to go the route we did. In short, there are reasons for every decision we make, and in a perfect world, we'd have 100s of classic shots and behind the scenes elements to play with, but we don't. Oh, and before anyone mentions it, it's also why we weren;t allowed to use the 'diamond' DW logo that's so iconic. The BBC uses the Pertwee logo for all things 'classic', to distinguish them from current.

A friend of mine bought me The Doctor and Santoran at Comic Con. Unfortunately it took him a week after the Con to mail them to me. They should be here any day now. I was purposely avoiding any recent Doctor Who pics because I wanted to see the figures in person first. But alas, I couldn't wait any longer.

Everything looks great, but I'm still waiting to see the Doctor with his HAT on. Did anyone answer the question as to the status of the hat? Also, is the Cyberman's CyberSnake included, as in the initial photos?

I remember them doing this as far back as when they first started releasing Classic Doctor Who stories on DVD.

They actually consider it the McGann logo (same as Pertwee though) ... which at the time was the most current design they had.

They are not which I'm OK with as the swivel bicep would give the Doctor pipes of steel.

The Doctor arrived at my house today, along with Sontaran Field Major Styre. And I must say, they are absolutely delightful!

Concerns about the Doctor's hat aside -- he at least looks good holding it tucked under one arm -- the sculpt is marvelous: the expression is inquisitive, concerned, a touch whimsical. The amount of care that went into the outfit is rather impressive.

Styre is a faithful reproduction of the rather absurd-looking Sontarans. Since Sontarans are all identical clones, I can see him being a great army builder. I personally want at least one more.

Which leads me to say: I will be ordering another set of these, for another Styre to open, and another Doctor to keep carded.

Big thanks to BBP for all their hard work. Looking forward to getting the Master and the Cyberleader soon, and Leela, Sutekh, Scaroth, and the Morbius monster come Spring!
