If Wave 2 comes out in July, when does Mattel stop making Wave 1?

Just curious how long Mattel will make this current line or if there is a definitive end date when they start making Wave 2 figures instead?

I'd like to hope that they start offering assortments. incorporate some of those early figures into later waves.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

THey must have stopped making them allready, cause I haven't seen one in Colorado since the first shipment....They should continue to make them even when wave two eventually hits....whenever they decide to put out wave two.

I'm very disappointed in the advertising of these figures....haven't seen anything on the second wave except here at the Museum. Nuthin even in the Toy Mags....and still nuthin on the most anticipated figure..BATMAN....we still haven't seen the actual Batman figure....what the heck? Maybe I'm just over anxious....But I'm really bummed with the lack of communication and advertising. This line is obviously just tossing the collectors a bone, because the expectations from Mattel seems incredibly low. COME ON!!!!!

Sorry for the little rant guys. I really want to see the new figures. I gave a Superman to my buddies 4 year old son, and he asks me everyday when Batman is comming out so he can play with the pair, and I have to keep telling him, I dont Know. Kids really like these...they have much more payability than the statues that they have been handed over the years......and the size is easier for kids to play with than the more common 12" figures.

judging from advance order lists, there will be some 1st wave figures mixed in with the 2nd wave assortment. The heavies will still go into rotation, but I think the light sellers may disappear for good.

I would look at modern lines that dig into the retro world to try to guess what Mattel's repack story is. Does Matty reissue some of the more popular MOTU figures? Do they do repaints and put them on another card like Hasbro does with the SW line?

I agree with Fuzzynail here. For this to be a TRU exclusive, they have been woefully understocked with product. My guess is they did not anticipate this kind of response. Hopefully they will be able to adjust production and meet the demand that is clearly out there.

Gotta agree with this. It almost seems as if Mattel doesn't care wether this line is a succes or not. They're only sold in one store in stead of more stores and worldwide and there's almost no advertising for these.
And I still do't understand the secrecy surrounding the Batman cowl. Looks like we'll probably not see it till wave 2 is officially released.
For a company as big as Mattel, they sure don't act professional

I get the feeling Mattel is testing the waters for this format beyond the comic shop/ collector's market. The early sellouts are telling them something.

Be a little patient guys....Mattel is going to be slow with this product so they can test the waters so to speak....TRU can't keep them in stock and Mattel knows it...they are not going to flood the market with this line now or in the future.....they are seeing with the market will bear....if this line becomes strong they will do more to promote it and put more into improving the figures(adding extras and more playability)...wave one is just the first step into the mass market....these things go slow

This would be great if true.

If these got into Wal Mart or Target, it'd be a wonderful thing. Though I'd worry that Walmart might demand a lower retail price that would negatively impact quality.

I saw wave two in the latest issue of Toy Fair it showed Batman with and without his cowl. Aquaman has fish scales on his bodysuit, They look great from what I saw of them.

I saw my first in person Superman at TRU last night on a Birthday scout with teh girlfriend.
She even said I was better off with my Hasbro 9" Silver age. I had to agree.

I dont know how many waves you can expect on this. I dont have a good feeling. I have never thought mattel was much in teh toy dept. bad paints . Poor articulation .

I don't think this line can go the distance unless it shapes up a LOT. The Mego Look is CHEAP but right out to the packaging it was too cheap looking . Not for $ 20 US

Wave 1 will continue to be stock next to waves 2 and 3 so that one day
there will be pegs with all three colors of cards.

I am thrilled that these figures made it to Toys R Us. Originally it was
going to be a mattycollector only line.

If sales are exceeding expectations, then more resource will be put to
                            promoting this line.

As for wave 2 - it should arrive in TRU by late June, early July. Wave 3
to hit stores in the fall.

Fingers crossed that this is the case and that more retailers and manufacturers take notice of the format and want to do something with it.
