While Mattel is the manufacturer and the distributor, EMCE Toys is partnered with them - as they said in the presentation - so I like to call these figures EMCEs as I do the Star Treks and Apes. Maybe it's just My EGO.

Dude! You not only dreamed but brought to life the Impossible Dream of the resurrection of one of my greatest joys in life, but you also tilted down the Windmill of obstacles in your way that others deemed impossible. You had the sheer testicular fortitude to see it through where others have failed. You, sir, are my hero.

You've got Marty involved, got a major toy company manufacturing them, and with your company acting as a developing partner in the new additions to the line. So, in my considered opinion, you may call them whatever you wish, oh Doctor, my Doctor!

Thanks for this blog entry and these photos! I'm especially glad you were able to address some of the issues on the proto's that I am particularly sensitive about and make it clear they will be address in the factory. I feel better that your report mentions that these issues will be addressed! Paul and Joe can confirm the almost hissy fit I threw about using the heavy vinyl for the cuffs instead of the nice pleather that is on the GA gloves. We simply couldn't find it in time in proper colors. My ego also had issues with using colors that didn't quite match, although as Paul told you and you reported, the final color matching will be done at the factory. We just had to use what was available.

And finally, the hand cut superman belt buckle. I discovered that I don't possess the ability to cut out a circle, even if it were to save my life. I'm glad you addressed that to let people know, these are all things that will be smoothed out later in the process.

This kind of reminds me of how my mother was with three kids on Christmas morning. My sisters and I would bound in to see packages as far as our little eyes could see, and giddy beyond belief. As we gleefully tore into the packages, Mom woulf remind us that the same dollar amount was spent on each of us, so if there was a discrepancy in the number of packages it didn't mean we were shorted... as if we could possibly notice.

Dave: You did an AWESOME job on these. I know you wanted different materials for the protos, but it's OK - we'll spend the same amount on all of them just as soon as we can get our hands on them. It's like your Grandmother apologizing for the scrumptious birthday cake she made for you because "it's a bit dry in spots". It's because of all your hard work and meticulous attention to detail that we are all out of our minds with glee!

Take a well deserved bow, and a rest. Bask in our sheer envy of your talent and your participation in this watershed... nay.... historic! event in our hobby's existence.

call this a drive by post but when megos first got big i was 6 and didnt know what sex was but knew megos (at that time) were better then it now at 43 seeing them comming back is better then sex today(based on age) so its really wild to see lol

I'm going on another army deployment back to Kuwait by year-end, so it'll be nice to FINALLY pickup some of the figs I can't normally afford, like a minty set of Mego FF, a couple of newer, limited-issue Space 1999 figures, AND a long-awaited GL & new GA..!

I like the details & sculpts (Sinestro is awesome!).

My only concern would be the size/thickness of the cuffs & the use of Lycra--
I think an Emce-type single-knit would be much more Megoesque.

But I'm trying to keep in minds these are protos.
