Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this exciting new line. Love the pictures - if you couldn't make the convention this was the next best thing to being there.

Ben,
Thanks for this blog entry and these photos! I'm especially glad you were able to address some of the issues on the proto's that I am particularly sensitive about and make it clear they will be address in the factory. I feel better that your report mentions that these issues will be addressed! Paul and Joe can confirm the almost hissy fit I threw about using the heavy vinyl for the cuffs instead of the nice pleather that is on the GA gloves. We simply couldn't find it in time in proper colors. My ego also had issues with using colors that didn't quite match, although as Paul told you and you reported, the final color matching will be done at the factory. We just had to use what was available.
And finally, the hand cut superman belt buckle. I discovered that I don't possess the ability to cut out a circle, even if it were to save my life.I'm glad you addressed that to let people know, these are all things that will be smoothed out later in the process.
Brilliant photos and great blog entry!Comment

Wow!!! How awesome Thank you for the photos and Info! What hit me as I was looking at these and I realized these are NEW Mego's to collect not just repro's. This is what Mego would have been like today. I am so thrilled!.....Comment

Great to have the blog back Ben, and the PERFECT opportunity to resurrect it. The figures look great, and I know they'll look even better when they are in our hands.
It's cool to have Dave make comments on a figure line he helped develop COMING FROM MATTEL! Our boys have hit the big time for us.

Cool. I was waiting for someone to give better close-ups. Who better for the job?
I like the material choices for the protos much better now that I've seen their detail. I hope the factory materials are a close match to some of the outfit choices.
Nice touch with the compare and contrast.Comment

I told Ben that I am being very careful to keep aside pieces for the book that
will be written years from now about this. It is a shame that we couldn't
get a shot of the back of the cape so you could see the yellow emblem on it.
By the way:
Sinestro's boots were originally ROMULAN boots, not Andorian boots.
I added a ring of clay at the top after altering the boots. Sinestro
did not have any special detailing in the comics on his boots, so I
wanted to keep them simple.
While Mattel is the manufacturer and the distributor, EMCE Toys
is partnered with them - as they said in the presentation - so I
like to call these figures EMCEs as I do the Star Treks and Apes.
Maybe it's just My EGO.Comment
