I made a post similar to this on Mego Buzz, but I did not notice this thread, let alone, I've never been in the emce forum before. So I am going to list my favorites in 3 categories. Since Batman is my all time favorite, I will start there first.
BATMAN UNIVERSE: No doubt Batman characters will eventually be a part of this lineup.
For Batman and Robin, I am hoping for 2 of each. First, reissue the classic Mego versions from the 70's with a few improvements.
1: No eyeballs please!! I always loved the white slits where you really can't see their eyes as reflected in the comics and various animated series.
2: Their looks should resemble the style of either Neal Adams or Jim Aparo. In the Adams VS Aparo debate, I can proudly say I love both of their art designs. I must admit, I loved it when Aparo occasionally drew the Dick Grayson/Robin in the 70's.
3: I feel the Batman figures should have oven mitts as well as cloth gauntlets and colored hands. The first would be for posing, the latter for holding gadgets like Batarangs.
4: Batman's ears and cape should be longer.
The other versions of Batman and Robin I would like to see made are the black and grey outfit for Batman and the first Robin costume worn by Tim Drake in the 90's with the red and green and the black and yellow cape. When I first saw both Batman and Robin on Batman: The Animated Series in the 90's, I always thought it would be cool to have Mego like figures of those versions.
OTHER BAT CHARACTERS:
Batgirl: Definitely reissue this classic figure. Nightwing: Gotta have Dick Grayson in his adult form if they make the Tim Drake Robin.
BAT VILLAINS: Definitely, Joker, Penguin, and the Riddler, but definitely improve them. I'd love to see a Catwoman in a black costume like the TV show or the grey costume from Batman: The Animated Series.
Definitely new villains like Two Face, a very popular custom as well as Mr. Freeze and the Scarecrow. And for females, how about Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy?
SUPERFRIENDS/JUSTICE LEAGUE APPEAL:
My motivation for collecting Megos was SuperFriends driven. And it is now along with the animated Justice League (Unlimited) series. I am also a hardcore Aquaman fan and I agree with wanting to see a new Mego like Aquaman with a better color scheme for the orange and green outfit. Like the Batman characters, I want to see oven mitts as an option. Superman definitely needs more villains. Lex Luthor in the classic Legion of Doom is a great start. I also hope the classic Brainiac, Bizarro, and the Legion of Doom version of Toyman will be considered. I want to see a Wonder Woman with no skin cloth, but an authentic costume. And Supergirl's costume needs to be similar to the costume worn by Helen Slater in the 1984 movie because it's as close to the comics as I remember with the emblem big and in the center as opposed to the small one on her right.
I like the hero/villain pair ups but I like them single too. It doesn't matter as long as I can get a hold of them. I definitely want to see the Wonder Twins and all the heroes and villains from the Challenge of the SuperFriends series be part of this lineup. Even though characters like Solomon Grundy and Gorilla Grodd may be too much to ask for since their sculpts would have to be different and bigger.
For pair ups, I defiinitely suggest:
Batman/Joker or Riddler either way
Robin/Scarecrow
Wonder Woman/Cheetah
Aquaman/Black Manta
The Flash/Captain Cold
In terms of the Justice League Unlimited, I am in favor of characters like Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Huntress, The Question, Captain Atom, Red Tornado, Vigilante, Shining Knight, Crimson Avenger, Elongated Man, Dr. Fate, etc.
In addition, I am in favor of Hawkman (for SuperFriends) and Hawkgirl (both SuperFriends and JLU), even though the wings will probably be the hardest part of the costumes to make along with the head pieces.
Also, I would love to see Plastic Man, even though you couldn't stretch him. And I am also in favor of Shazam Aka Captain Marvel along with Mary Marvel and
Captain Marvel Jr. as well as villains like Dr. Sivana and Black Adam.
I definitely hope we will see SuperFriends characters in this Mego like line. In addition to the Wonder Twins, it would be great to have figures of Black Vulcan, Samaraui,
El Dorado and how about a pair up of Apache Chief and Giganta?
Although less likely, it would be cool to see new versions of civilian figures like
Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, and Dick Grayson. And the Teen Titans like Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy, and Wonder Girl. I hope they're reissued since the originals are impossibly expensive now.
Anyway, to conclude, I would like to see all the SuperFriends and Legion of Doom characters all be made, more villains for Superman, more Aquaman characters like Aqualad, Mera, and Black Manta, more JLA and JLU characters, and expand the Batman line. I heard they were coming out with the John Stewart Green Lantern. That would be nice to have, since the closest thing I have to one is a Dr. Mego costume on Huggy Bear, but instead of John Stewart, what I ended up with is Huggy Lantern. "What it is."
But that's my two cents.
Cheers.
