How Ironic would a Warlord pitch be, considering the He-Man history?
I hope we get new characters in future waves, but there's an option to keep current waves available... It would be nice to see the whole family available in smaller numbers.
I like all of the suggestions from everyone so far, and while my love tends to push deeply into Vertigo territory, I realize the unlikely nature of that and mego-innocent match-up, so a line up roughly super-friend or JLA themed would be awesome (*cough* Black Lightning *cough*).
Despero.
... if they make Angel and the Ape I'm there. I could list third and seventeenth stringer characters I'd be into all day, (Shade the Changing Man!!!) so listen to everyone but me. Because I want this to be successful :(
Except Hawkman rules. Just like anything Kirby.Last edited by Tothiro; Jul 26, '09, 4:20 AM.Comment

I'm looking forward to anything Batman related. New Batman and Robin sculpts, a more modern Catwoman, new villains like Scarecrow, Two-Face, Mr.Freeze, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, ... bring it on and I'll be buying them ALL"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

Howsabout 8" versions of The Dark Knight Batman and Joker? Mattel's already got the likeness rights to Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, this'd be an easy one. They could even make the Bat-outfit from Batman Begins as well!
Definitely down for a new Wonder Woman - much as I like the Mego version, the silk-screen suit and head need upgrading. Again, should be easy enough to scale down the Barbie versions for the new WGSH line. Same could be done for the Barbie versions of Batgirl and Supergirl (alas, no Mary Jane, Elektra, or Invisible Woman. Curse You, Gods of Licensing and Character Rights!!!!).
I do like the initial release theme of hero and arch-enemy, as well as having at least one-two retro characters per line, and I hope this continues for each wave. Of course, the number of figures might increase with each successive wave if the line does well (I hope, I hope!).
Is it 2010 yet?"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment

I'd like to see the focus kept on the 70s Bronze Age versions of the characters first, like wave 1 is doing. It will keep the line more unique, I think, and it's an era DC Direct has been ignoring, for the most part. And I want EVERYONE Mattel has access to license-wise (which is practically EVERYONE). It's just a matter of when and where we get them.

>Since the pattern with the first series is two heroes and their respective arch foes, series two should reflect the same pattern.
Yeah! I think it's fantastic that they've done a hero AND a villain! Nobody ever does enough bad guys! Think of Mego's original ratio. "Look! It's the Penguin! Alright everybody GET HIM!!!!"
>if they make Angel and the Ape I'm there.
HAW! So I'm not the only one thinking this, eh? (They WERE in Crisis after all! The ORIGINAL one anyhoo....) I think they'd need a new body design for Sam.
....and then you'd need a Stan Bragg to go with 'em....

Well, I'm glad to see a few people throwing Aquaman's hat (or crown) into the ring. I know he's not the most popular hero, but he's always been my absolute favorite. I remember begging my grandparents for a Mego Aquaman when I was a kid. They searched everywhere until they finally found him sitting on a shelf at our local Hooks Drug Store. Definitely my fav Mego. And even though there's a certain charm to the design back in the day, I would like to see a new head sculpt more in line with the Super Friends version, as well as scales on the shirt and a trident accessory. But please, no Peter David version! Much as I admire Mr. David as a writer, I prefer old school Aquaman.
Now, the great thing about re-releasing Aquaman is that you can pair him with one of the most visually exciting super villains of all time, Black Manta! This guy had the rasping voice & black helmet thing down when Darth Vader was still sucking his asthma inhaler! Gotta see Manta in this line! Really adds to the whole "Legion of Doom" vibe Lex and Sinestro are giving off.
So my vote for the next waves are...
Wave 2
Aquaman/Black Manta
Batman/Riddler
Wave 3
Flash/Captain Cold
Wonder Woman/Cheetah
I picked Riddler over Joker because for whatever reason (perhaps his psychotic nature?) Joker wasn't used in the Super Friends show. Scarecrow would be another good Bat Villain choice, as he never got the Mego treatment and was a big part of the LOD. Anyway, I feel my choices give a nice mix of old and new.
But no matter what, I am saving my bottle return money to buy these figures! They are retro without feeling stale, and updated without feeling exploitive.
Great job, EMCE, Mr. Abrams, and Mattel!White, Gray, and Black Stones

I have to agree with Jason here. I really liked Aparo when I was growing up. I loved the long eared look. I thought he was second only to Neil Adams in nailing what I thought was the classic "iconic" look of Batman.Comment
-
I don't think Aparo was mimicking Adams style....yeah his Bats had the long-ears also but Aparo always had his own unique style that was nothing like Neal Adams. Adams has always been a little full of himself though IMO. Between Batman and Brave and the Bold in the 70s Aparo cut out a nice niche for himself as THE 70s Batman artist. Adams may have started the look but Aparo kept it running for many years after that.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I would say, looking at the first wave, count on Batman/Scarecrow and Flash/Captain Cold for the next wave. One reissue/update and his(never before made) arch enemy and a brand new hero and his(never before made) arch enemy. All of course featured on Challenge of the Superfriends. I'll be really surprised if they don't round out the Superfriends and Legion of Doom first.Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.Comment

70`s! No 80`s stuff at first! I hope they get the Marvel license and do the same thing...
DC:

Captain cold
etc. etc.
For MArvel:
Spidey
Thing
Human Torch
Mr. Fantastic
Invisible girl
Hulk
I want to have my own secret wars. Marvel vs. DC! Heroes vs. villains.Comment
