Got mine today. As Anarchy's pictures attest and as Earth2Chris suggested, this is one of those cases where the promo shots weren't very good when compared with the final product. I'm mostly a MIB collector and it looks spectacular in the box. The packaging on these Superman Movie 12"ers is great, with the black background and the faux-silver metallic effect on the Superman logo, just like in the movie.

Just looking at the pics posted here, I wish the head were a bit bigger and the neck slightly longer. That might minimize how disproportionately large the shoulders are.

Nonetheless, for $60, it's well worth a purchase for a Superman fan, considering this is the first action figure in Reeve's likeness.

Agreed. I havent been able to open mine since it arrived but the promo pics did not do it any justice at all. Its a very nice figure. Minus a few imperfections , but very nice nontheless.

I got mine today, and once you start posing him, the shoulder issue goes away. I put in him some Reeve-esque flying poses and he looks great. My minor gripe is I wish the shoulders pivoted in like Zod, so you could fold his arms, but it's a minor gripe. This is apparently a new, more muscular body.

And the body works for Chris Reeve as Superman. Chris's size fluctuated as Superman. He was a bit thin in the early filming of Superman: The Movie (and parts of II), and Superman IV, but in most of the first two movies, and all of III he was well-muscled.

I have no problem with the boots. Reeve's boots were high and went way above the calf-muscle.

This is a great figure, and there is no doubt it's Chris Reeve. For $60, the likeness is actually closer to Reeve than the first Hot Toys DK Ledger Joker I have, which retailed for $150 minimum. Now you don't get the patented Hot Toys skin pores and such, the realism isn't quite there, but the likeness IS, and that's what I was after. I'll pick up the Hot Toys one too, of course.

But Mattel really did this figure a great injustice with the crappy promo photos they offered to promote this.

I tried to take some pics, but our digital camera is going to pot.

Ray, the eyebrow trick did bring more of Chris out. But I think my eyebrows may be a bit thinner than Anarchy's posted above. Probably just a slight variation in the paint masking, but enough to cause a subtle difference.

OK....I gotta order one of these now
                      I don't think you'll be disappointed Anthony.

On further thought, this figure holds up to much of Sideshow's work, as far as likenesses go.

                        Here's my slightly retouched version:

Like I said, making the head a little bit bigger and the neck a little bit longer would have made this a lot better.

I got mine, and he looks pretty cool.

I'm holding off actually pulling him out of the box until Xmas... and then I will play with him in front of my TV with Zod. Maybe even in my PJs.

I agree w/you guys. The figure is okay. It could use a repaint. I'd say it's worth the cash.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I don't think the likeness is as good as SideShow SW Figures at all. I have like 5 of them, and that stuff's just dead on.

Nice figure ..., still looks like a 20 buck Hasbro 12incher though.
