    Favourite Part of the 1970's!?

Well...I didn't live it...But I live in the past 70's...:P If that makes any sense. Like I listen to music from the 70's and 80's...I have toys from 70's and 80's, I watch shows from 70's and 80's. So anyways...What's your favourite part of the 1970's?

Mine has to be playing Dungeons and Dragons (TSR version of course) with my friends.

    Watching "Three's Company"

    Playing with my Ape Mego's.

The 70s was very fun to grow up in, Saturday morning cartoons with a huge bowl of Honeycombs, the toys(totally awesome), the bicycles, the forts, no computers, very little video games, the great movies that I still enjoy watching today were all what made me tick back then. My vehicle of choice was this, if you had one you were the coolest kid on the block! Enjoy.

Hard to narrow it down to any one thing so I'll list a few. The TOYS, music, movies, stores, comics, TV shows and who doesn't love the decor all from the 70's.

Yellow, brown and orange were considered excellent colors for home design. I like "warm" colors. I also liked shag carpet, too.
                It's all good!

I lived it although as a child. What DON'T I miss might be better question. But really what I miss the most are those special times I'd sleep over for the weekend at a friend's house and we'd play with our Mego/Star wars to death, and hit the mall/arcade. We'd watch Saturday morning cartoons. If there was sci-fi related movie playing On TV we'd watch it.
The other stuff I do miss like the TV shows? I can still watch those.
There isn't much these days that I look as forward too as those weekends. I'll stop before I start ranting about people forgetting how to have fun as adults.

My cousin Cliff was always at my house in the 70's. I was a year older, and we were like brothers. We were best friends and liked all the same stuff. He stayed at our house so much that he slept at his own house maybe 2 times a week. When school was out, we'd play until it was time to go to sleep. We'd play action figures, Hot Wheels, or we'd run around pretending to be different characters we liked from TV. What great times we had.

What I'm getting at is that I miss all that awesome playtime with my cousin/brother/best friend Cliff.

And I gotta agree with VintageMike. What I don't miss is a better question.

You know what I miss the most?
                              Those great corner variety stores.
You know. Those little mom-and-pop places that sold a little bit of everything.

The one that was closest to my house I spent the most time in of course.
I can stil lpicture the layout and where most of the stuff was.
Toys/models were in the back, in the middle.
Candy was up front on the right, though for some reason things like waxed lips were a row over.
Notebook paper and other school supplies were on the left, in the middle.
And directly opposite that, on the far wall was stuff like aftershave, and ties.
In the back, right corner were various tools, and things like brooms and such.
The left back area was stuff like needles, thread, yarn, etc.

I swear, the place must have been a TARDIS.
As when I go in that building now, I have no idea how it all fit.
The store next to it has been combined with it, and the wall between them is completely gone. But it still feels so 'small' in there. I see the original footprint of the old P&J Varety, and I don't know how it could have held half the stuff I remember.
