    Hey Jordan,
I enjoyed watching the first 2 shows of the new season with my kids they were really into it. This Quote "In fact, producers asked me "Can we do less Mego?" ... and I said.. " Of course not!" Just made you my new favorite T.V. Personality. :-) Keep up the Good work and please do your best to keep it real.

    John

    Hey guys !!

You didnt think I would let a day go without checking in.. did you? LOL Thanks so much for the comments, I have read them all.

With regards to Gene and staging... I can say a few things.

    1. Gene really did reach out to us, and he did call me. Some artistic license may have been re-created for TV.
    2. I understand people feel the show may have seemed a bit "too polished" and I hear you.... the Network wanted to reach a broader range of the viewing audience. Sometimes, this means "jazzing up a few scenes" or "dumbing down" others.

However, I am still in control when the deals go down and try to make them as real as possible. Vicky really did have the KISS Van, along with some Megos and other stuff. ( She even had a rare KISS mobile from Australia). I overpaid on the Van big time... but I really wanted to have it.

Gene is pretty much the way you would think him to be.. business like and "matter of fact." I did get some cash from him as well.. in addition to the record.

The viewmaster did go the the old man at the flea market, when I found out that Gene had it... it was sold for $75.

I am trying to keep the show entertaining and fun. It may become less documentary and lean more towards documentary/information. It's the Networks call.

I can promise you this.. we have TONS OF MEGO THIS SEASON. In fact, producers asked me "Can we do less Mego?" ... and I said.. " Of course not!"

Thanks for your comments and suggestions, I read them all and I remain in all of your debt for watching the show!

    Best-
    Jordan

Love the show and never miss it, BUT I could absolutely do without seeing that arrogant SOB Gene Simmons. And I'm even a KISS fan. Would much rather see your "average joe" collectors/collections. But I realize its TV and you have to have that wow factor to pull in the viewers.

The second episode made me sad. I had no idea they closed down that museum. I was in the area a few years back and didn't go. Now I really regret it.

the show is entertaining but there's no way jordan can turn a profit on more than half the stuff he is buying. realistically, it's hard to turn a profit on toys when you factor in car rental , airfare, and other expenses.

This was one of the toys I was referring to in my original post asking about the actual resale value- This is an awesome toy for sure, but it doesn't seem to bring that much in terms of final value (at least on eBay). Actually, compared to the last few that have ended on eBay, he overpaid by quite a bit on this one.

This, many times over. I can live vicariously through Jordan's picks and it keeps my travel expenses down =)

The only drawback to seeing Gene Simmons' collection was that Simmons was present.

Preferred the second episode, the toys are all the celebrity i need.
Yeah, I've never been a fan. Seems like a an arrogant sleaze ball. I know he plays up that angle, but he seems sincere.

I need to watch the shows in slow mow to catch all the great stuff in the background that's never shown up front and center.

The new ads with the closeups of Mego Batman and Robin in the Batmobile make me grin every time. Too bad Robin's in the driver's seat?!?

Fun episodes. As much of a KISS fan I am, Gene always comes off as such a pompous arse, and once again he didn't disappoint. It was cool seeing his collection room though. But I seriously doubt that van is worth anywhere near that much. It's not exactly common, but a $1000+ toy? Uh, no. That POTA stallion seemed way too high as well.

The bolded part in the quote choked up my squint filter, do you have a link?
