I see a lot of people saying they want classic Mego versions of the characters or comic accurate ones, not MCU versions, and I agree for the most part, but I wonder what would sell better with a mass audience.

For instance, if the line launched with 2 4 packs-one with classic Mego/comic accurate versions of Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor and the other with the MCU version of the same 4 characters, which would sell better in the Disney Stores and parks and on the website. For sure Mego collectors would go for the former, but overall, would the MCU versions do better with mass audience overall? I guess the question is if there is an audience for Mego style figures outside the core Mego audience?

I really hope these do well, as I'd love to have several characters, old and new , in the classic Mego style, but I wonder where the future of the market lies.

Or maybe three new figures and one classic reproduction.

But will they be reproducing all of the original 12?

I had this discussion with two friends back in October. Their fear was that the figures will be based solely on the MCU versions because of the Disney Store and parks exclusivity.

I had originally thought that the first 4-pack would be Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor (or Falcon) reproductions and then the next wave would be 4 all-new characters.

But if they are reproducing the original 12 and making 8 new ones...

    Deadpool
    Wolverine
    Dr. Doom
    Daredevil
    Black Panther
    Venom
    Dr. Strange
    Loki

Not exactly characters that I would want but that's the direction I could see Mego going.

I like those 4-pack ideas, Lonnie. Maybe another one of Bring on the Bad Guys.

There’s a rumor on social media that the first four will not be available in the Disney Parks. Not sure if that’s accurate or not. I certainly hope it isn’t.

Very excited for these figures, but very apprehensive about the Disney choices that will be made. Oh well, I can't afford them anyway...
I think they will probably make:
    Agatha
    Ms. Marvel
    Captain Marvel
    Photon
    Blonde Black Widow
    Female Loki
    Valkyrie
    Katy
    She-Hulk
    Echo

We’re getting close to the (hopeful) release date/month. I know in the video that was posted Marty is supposed to be at Disneyland for the announcement.

has there been any updates on social media as to an announcement?

Mego really took the wind from the sails of the Atlas figures by announcing Marvel on the same day. They should have waited until after the Walmart collector con.

I've been fooling around with those old DST figures lately and I like most of the head sculpts, but I get it. When I listen to some of my old mix tapes, I can hear Every. Little. Mistake. It drives me nuts.

It would be fun to see new, better (in your opinion) sculpts though. The modern Captain America bothers me, but I always felt it was the paint apps, especially on the eyes, and not the sculpt. I love that Daredevil!
