really great writing and a great cast. this is right up there with Best of Both worlds, which is considered one of the greatest episodes of any TV show in history

I really enjoyed this one especially the idea that Issac is a second generation and therefore could be higher evolved than his "parents".

    Pretty close...

I thought last week couldn’t be topped, well, it was. This episode was as good as anything I’ve seen in Star Trek. This episode alone makes every single Discovery episode look like mosquito shlat.

    ******SPOILERS*****

I didn’t call the Krill helping out though...that was a nice surprise.

Ok, back in the day I didn't read tabloids so I never heard the rumors. I figured there would be no status quo shakeup long term for the show.

LOTS of people doubted whether Picard would be saved, rumors of Stewart leaving the show were all over the fan mags..

Ron Moore, Jonathan Frakes and more reveal how writing themselves into a corner for "Best of Both Worlds" changed Trek forever: "All of us were quite thrilled they had the balls to leave Picard on the Borg cube."

The episode electrifies audiences when it begins airing on syndication June 18, 1990. Even Trekkies who refused to accept Next Generation as legitimate are buzzing. Rumors of Patrick Stewart's exit swirl, with fans waiting an agonizing three months for the conclusion to air in September. Meanwhile, the writers are tasked with figuring out how to follow up their first cliffhanger ever.

Oh, like anyone doubted Picard would not be saved in the second part. I rewatched the Orville episode and towards the end I noticed Isaac is mighty quiet.

It's all a simulation, and Isaac and his kind are testing the Union.
