Good question! I like that explanation!

Cool fashion, no substance. I was hoping her character would be the most compelling. Oh well, maybe she comes back and does something of consequence?

There were other characters of the same ilk… anyone know about the two shiny white faceless (Snow?) troopers that briefly appeared? Was KR hitting his Chewie-wound to dial up more darkness to keep fighting Rey? Oh, and was it me or was Carrie Fisher's face and neck CGI'd? There was something weird going on there.

Enjoyed it for what it was, much like the Apes reboot…*fun, but likely no true greatness to be found in the annals of cinema other than paydays.

One thing that did disappoint me was John Williams' score. I don't recall any new memorable music taking place, it was nice hearing the old themes, but there was no new music that really stuck with me, it was kind of generic. Even the prequels had some cool new themes.

We ended up seeing this in 3D, but the effect didn't have too many "wow" moments, except one shot where the front of a Star Destroyer looked like it was popping right off the screen and over the audience. That shot alone almost made it worth the extra ticket price.

That They Live parody is hilarious! And yes, BB-8 does resemble the Kenner R2, now that I think of it!

I like that BB-8's head reminds me of Kenner's original little R2 figure, with that big eye.

I don't think there are any "rumors", other than just random speculation from random people. I put zero stock in it.

absolutely true. Ford may think the Han Solo character is shallow/without depth, but the fans of the world love him. the franchise needed to bring him in, no matter the cost and clearly it was well worth the investment. as far as Carrie Fisher, well, she is nowhere near the star power Ford is, and she never was. In addition her part of way smaller than Ford's in the movie

if he got that much for this movie, I wonder what he is getting for the next one, if rumors be true about Han being in VIII

Here's what I read about Ford's salary as well as the others.

Ford’s galactic payday is based on a $25 million upfront payment – placing the 73-year-old star in the very top echelon of Hollywood earners – backed up by a 0.5% share of the film’s gross earnings, which could be worth another $9 million if the film hits $2 billion at the global box office. The basic figure is more than 56 times the $450,000 flat fee received by British newcomers John Boyega and Daisy Ridley – who will also start to receive a cut once the film grosses $1 billion worldwide – and crucially, 17 times the $1.5 million sum Carrie Fisher is due to receive for returning to the role of Leia Organa

Let's be honest, Harrison Ford is the biggest star here compared with the rest of them. Considering his attitude over the years about Solo it probably did take quite a bit of $$ to bring him on board, but good for him.

Yeah, that part surprised me, I was expecting an emotional moment between the two, but nothing. Maybe poor Chewie was still in shock.

I knew that I wouldn't get a chance to see this until Sunday, so I stayed away from the internet and social media for the last few days, thus I went into the film completely spoiler free. Unfortunately, that's what you have to do these days if you want to walk into a film with no idea what will happen in it.

I agree 1000%. That act got old long ago. To Mr Ford: Stop it already. It's the one movie who got you out of working at carpentry for a living. Now you are a multimillionaire because of Star Wars. Stop the pretentious thespian act. Embrace it like Mark Hamill does. After all, you are not a scientist devoting your entire life trying to find the cure for cancer, it's just acting, get over yourself. Now go back to your gigantic mansion made from Star Wars blood money...and shut your trap already.

    Sincerely, a big fan...
