Another unwritten rule I've noticed. All Skywalker males are whiny.

^ very well said hector. i feel the same way. my 12 year old son absolutely loved it. i think jj abrams achieved what he set out to do- create a "star wars" for this generation.

I've only seen Force Awakens once...will probably rent it through Redbox one of these days.

It was a good movie, but obviously lacked that magic for me...to be fair...it's an unfair comparison, as I was like 14 when I first saw Star Wars, it left quite an impression on me, and became a loyal fan...but as an adult, I'm much more cynical...no movies today will ever leave that type of influence on me nowadays...the price I paid for getting old...

1977 SW played here for over six months, and I think I went to see it just about every week. Boring childhood, but I did see a lot of SW. Every time I talked to someone who hadn't seen it, I said "let's go see it together!". Lucas should have put me on the payroll...

JJ: Dang, they are on to us! We may need some rewrites.

"Jedi hermits" seem to be some kind of unwritten rule in the Star Wars universe. Obi-Wan became one,Yoda became one and now Luke.

It stayed her for 4 weeks, which has to be a new record. We have a one screen theater that doesn't even show weekly movies anymore. Lots of plays and concert, etc. come in instead.

It's gone from my local theatre after tomorrow. Just over two months is exceptional for a movie in my area. One month is normally the limit for a big hit.

We are in a small town with a 2 screen (tho they typically program 4 films) theater. Force Awakens lasted a pretty long time compared to te usual run length. It was showing up thru the first or second week of Feb.

My theater doesn't have it showing anymore. I went to see Deadpool on Thursday and noticed it wasn't showing.

The Oscar snub continues for the next generation of Star Wars movies. No wins again. Interesting.

I mentioned before that it would be easy to duplicate Empire in Episode 8. It would also be easy to turn Rey into a Joan of Arc type figure once she receives some Jedi training. People could rally to the Resistance because of her heroics in battle against the First Order. Not just a ripoff of Katniss from "The Hunger Games" but an actual leader of troops in battle.
