The 4th Dr special was imo the worst special to date.

Good thing

1. Tom Baker, Louise Jameson and John Leeson appear

Bad thing

There is no mention of Harry, Romana-1, Romana-2, Adric, Tegan or Nyssa

It's like they never existed

--- does the person who puts these specials together even watch classic Dr Who ?

Tom's tenure is so long that it probably got clipped. As for the last three, they'll likely be covered in the 5th special because they're really his companions.

That's gotta be it ..... but cutting for time, they should have at least included mention of Romana-2 --- which imo is a very popular companion.

BTW, Tom Baker looked great for his age

Tom is still as funny as ever
The focus on Sarah jane was appropriate - longest tenure of any companion on tv - and expected since she was part of the new show too.

I wonder of they plan on a "part 2" next month for the 4th dr and maybe that's why they didn't cover the douglas adams years or JNT era

So the question is will they be the same Omnibus (aks WHOVIE) versions used for the broadcasts or a repacakging of the most recent Sp ed releases of these stores with more features - either way I bought them all once I'm not buying updated editons unless I finish gettting all the other stories on dvd and have money to blow.

but when I looked at amazon I saw the a recolored Mind of evil is slated for a June release in the states (YES!!!) so with that the only complete story unreleased to dvd is Terror of the Zygons, and after those only Ice Warriors and Tenth planet remain missing from the original VHS releases

The only probs with Earthshock is episode 1 is boring as hell and the Cyberleader says "EXCELLENT" like 10 thousand times

One i like alot - it killed adric.
actually this brings up an interesting dilemma for BBC. as we all rememebr the closing credits for earthshock are silence over the broken star BBC will have to Shrink it to a corner to run an advert over most of the screen killing the ambience given the closing on the original broadcast

The DVD edition of Earthshock is worth a look because it has optional CGI effects...

But none of Davison's stories have ever been worth repeated viewings, IMO.
