Looks awesome, did you see the space jockeys chair pop up in the clip at the end?The one in Alien, where they found the big alien in the chair with his chest blown out.
On whether or not the original "xenomorph" will be seen in Prometheus:
"No. Absolutely not. They squeezed it dry. He (the xenomorph) did very well. (He laughs) He survived, he's now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"
There are no words I can think of to describe this better than OH EM GEE!!!
It's gonna be one HELLUVA summer at the box office, boys and girls....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
I'm kinda mixed on this one. Alien has been played out for a while, but I'm always up for a fresh take. Finding out the deal behind the Space Jockey is intriguing, but I'm worried it'll take away some of the weird and creepy of the setting. (Like finding out Stonehenge was just built for a lark.) And the new, uber-clean space stuff is jarring compared to the lived-in look of the earlier films. (I keep hearing Daft Punk when I look at the new designs.)
From an interview with Scott, he seemed to indicate that no Aliens would be in the movie, only the Jockey. He feels that they have been "done to death".

Exactly.
And that's the main reason I wanna watch it really bad...the Space Jockey...that space telescope observatory/Space Jockey imagery from the very first ALIEN movie has always intrigued me...I even had a Space Jockey poster back in 1979 on my bedroom wall...that...and Ridley Scott of course.
One of my favorite elements of the first film (especially as a kid) was the alien space craft - and thinking about the Xenomorph being one little element - one little speck of what was in the universe of that movie.
What else was on the planet THAT thing was from for it to compete with and evolve that way?
In my mind I decided the Nostromo crew didn't land on the planet the Xenomorphs were from - they were brought there by the Space Jockey who crash landed after being infected - a long time ago.
Here's my thing though - in "Alien" (for me) the MOST effective stuff was when we don't see the Alien all that clearly. We're piecing a picture of him together in our heads from fast glimpses of the creature in the dark. At the end of the film when we finally see him it's disappointing to me. Seeing him kills a bit of the effect for me.
To me, this seems like the same thing - the Space Jockey is intriguing to me - but I'm not convinced that filling in the blanks will make the idea more interesting - I think the chances are it will make it less interesting.
Hmmmm.... I really liked the Alien when we finally saw him, and looked durned hard to get the original model back in the day.

Yeah, I agree with this too. As a kid I thought he was some sort of haunted mutant bug/bioborg thingie. I can't see the official explanation being as interesting. It'll probably be some sort of pseudo Warhammer 40K rip, like so many new sci-fi bits.
