You nailed it, Mikey.

It certainly has it's flaws and in no way did it even approach the greatness that is Alien, but when compared with the bulk of what's available these days, I give the film reasonable marks for the effort.
Kept my interest, for the most part. Vacant actors and plot holes here and there, but ah well, it is what it is. I'll grab it for $2 from a used dvd bin, no problemo.

And Alien Resurrection. It was good despite Damon Lindelof's contributions, and that's saying something.
