I thought this thread was about Star Wars Episodes #7-#9?

        That's a gutbuster.

The new trilogy made a billlion dollars.

        THAT would be enough...

still...to ADD to that....the WORST criticism he got
were from 30 y.o. and up classic SW fans that post on message boards.

AND with REVENGE OF THE SITH, Lucas went out a GREAT NOTE
        critic-wise and box office-wise.

If Lucas doesn't greenlight a new trilogy with Hamill involved
---it's a cheat to millions of fans and the industry people who
stand to make ANOTHER billion on STAR WARS.

        Go for it Lucas!

Hue, I could NOT have said it any better myself.

All honesty, I'd echo what someone said earlier, and forget about any more sequels to Star Wars. There's enough books, TV shows, etc. out there that anything you'd care to see in a sequel has pretty much played out already, and chances are a new film won't satisfy everyone's expectations anyway.

It's like Star Trek - much as I love it, the time comes when you want to move on to something else. Lucas initially moved away from Star Wars, then gave us Indiana Jones (with Speilberg), and Willow (nice attempt, didn't do as well as hoped). I'd rather see Lucas do something else; maybe something science fiction (a whole new universe with all new characters and stories, etc.), maybe take another shot at fantasy, etc. (hell, have him work with Michael Moorcock and bring Elric to the screen).

Personally, I'd rather Star Wars in all its forms be shelved for awhile, say for a generation, then do a revamp/reimagining (howsabout a Steampunk version?). Change it up a bit - it's not like someone's going to take anyone's existing Star Wars DVDs or toys away. Play with the concept a bit - worked pretty good for Battlestar Galactica.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

IF eps 1-3 had been made old school they may have been alright. It was all that crap cgi that ruined. The magic of Star Wars was partially its look, it looked real and believable. Ep1 looked like a bad video game, one of those ones that promised to be groundbreaking and will change the way you play games, not. That statemeant usually means, this is total crap and we know it, maybe that will sell a few copies.
Like someone said above he destroyed Star Wars with the prequels and has to be well aware of it. He must have had lessons from Gene Simmons on how to utterly destroy something that was once cool and turn it into a bloated cash cow.

            no. CGI improved it.

So that proves I wasn't imagining it all these years.
I swore up and down that I remember reading something way back at the beginning that said there were 12 parts planned and I think the article was like you said; talking about what they might be about. I remember trying to figure out what year part 12 would come out if it took 2-3 years between movies.
I would love to see that article to put this to rest.

I know I have the article in storage somewhere. The next time I'm over there, I'll try to find it.

I think we need to make 7-9 if only to end the series without Ewoks.
Then again, if we wait long enough, Mr. Lucas will do the Special Special Edition and rewrite the whole original trilogy again. I can't wait for Jar Jar on the Death Star.
