Star Wars the final trilogy - Eps 7-9

Originally Lucas had this written as a 9 part storyline. After the original trilogy he indicated he wouldn't make anymore...SURPRISE! He went back and did episodes 1-3. And, of course, afterwards he said he was done with this and felt it only needed to be just six chapters. Do you think he's done with it? As time passes, demand for merchandise will wane with no suggestion of another trilogy. Or is all of that moot at this point and he is simply too old to handle any more? As Yoda would say, "Too old to start again."

I hope they dont do it, I think they ruined it enough with eps 1-3.

I think he's done with it.

Lucas (for some reason) seems to hate Star Wars and only does stuff relating to it when he wants some quick cash.

It's like Dr Frankenstein despising his own monster.

The new "trilogy" was an overall letdown and Lucas knows this.
He tried to make lightning strike twice, but it just didn't happen.

I think he's totally done with it --- besides "subbing out" cartoons and the like.
Stuff that he doesn't really have to do anything.

I hope he does do it,obviously the cast is too old to use.But maybe the whole movie made in CGI with the voices would be cool

IF eps 1-3 had been made old school they may have been alright. It was all that crap cgi that ruined.The magic of Star Wars was partially its look, it looked real and believable. Ep1 looked like a bad video game, one of those ones that promised to be groundbreaking and will change the way you play games, not. That statemeant usually means, this is total crap and we know it, maybe that will sell a few copies.
Like someone said above he destroyed Star Wars with the prequels and has to be well aware of it. He must have had lessons from Gene Simmons on how to utterly destroy something that was once cool and turn it into a bloated cash cow.

I really seem to recall when Star Wars first came out that it was supposed to be a 12 part saga but that quickly was reduced to the 9 that everyone else is aware of.
Does anyone else remember that or am I just batty?
That said, I wouldn't mind a 7, 8, 9 and the cast isn't too old. It can be set 30 years in the future and also deal with Luke's & Leia's kids, etc.
I think it should end with Luke's grandson becoming the new Darth Vader!

I think the original cast is the perfect age to continue on as long as the story is about their kids and luke rebuilding the jedi order.
I'm sure there was a book like this once upon a time.

Rumors have it the last 3 parts, 7-9, would track Luke's unavoidable path down the dark side. Sounds like if they never get made we are spared unmeasurable torture. I couldn't sit thru 2 films watching Anakin go down the dark side. I can't bear to see Luke do it in 3 films.

You know, for years we have been hearing about will he or won't he do it...the rumors about Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca) being signed for the last three movies....Carrie Fischer mysteriously getting back into shape, Harrison Ford doing this...Mark Hammil doing that....
You will hear this stuff until George Lucas eventually kicks the bucket.

It seems like things you want bad in life never work out the way you wish they would, especially things that have run their course. (speaking of that, I have been waiting for a full fledged Led Zeppelin reunion/tour since I was nine years old.) LOL

In my opinion, if you don't see George Lucas actually say, hey dude...I am making three more Star Wars movies.

Don't worry about it because he isn't. I would love to see the final three episodes be completed but I think a lot of the actors have passed "their time" and they would look a little silly back in their roles that made them famous.
Until then, some of those actors (where are they now?) will have to sit and wait and go back to their secret lives of being bipolar agoraphobics, checking online forums to see if people are talking about them while painting nipples on clad dressed Star Wars figures or whatever the case may be.

it's done.....they flooded the market with too much crap. I actually liked the prequel trilogy. Thought Attack of the Clones was a bit week but I liked Ep 1 and 3.The clone wars movie was week but the weekly series if pretty cool. Anyone catch the season finale? it was pretty violent. There is just too much Star Wars stuff on the market now. In order for excitement to build they have to just stop everything. Kind of like what has happened with Star Trek. There has not been anything new Trek in years so ther eis excitement building for the new movie, even if it is not follwoing cannon.

I always thought if something ever happened to Lucas,.. you would see Star Wars spin outta control with movie, & tv shows like what happened to Star Trek..., but I don't think Lucas will do it..., maybe though,.. I mean to make another Muli-Billion Dollar Trilogy would be rough, right ?
