A member of Spinal Tap on Classic Star Trek

A lot of people don't know Harry Shearer aka Derek Smalls or Mister Burns did a bit part on the Star Trek Classic episode Day Of The Dove.

He didn't get credit for it so today many people don't know it.

      Big fan.

      Is that him?

He must be old as dirt.

He's old enough that one of his first acting roles (bit part) was on the movie Abbott and Costello Go To Mars in 1953.
He was a kid at the time.

          He is 65.

It doesn't look like him...but the nose is very similar...so it must be him, lol.

Preserving Mego history today, making Mego history tomorrow.

The thing that throws me off is his height and broad chest (he looks like a bodybuilder there, lol) in that photo...he towers over Sulu and Scotty...but Shearer is rather short and slight...

Here he is as a kid (on the right)...

Must be the angle...or Takei and Doohan were just puny midgets.

I don't see a Kirk Douglass chin on him like in that Star Trek photo...

I'm not saying is not him...I'm just pointing out some differences...that's all.

                It's definitely him.

I know this for sure because HE HIMSELF mentioned his bit part in Star Trek on David Letterman back in the 80's.

He even described the episode (not remembering the name) saying something like --- I was a security guard on Star Trek fighting Klingons with a sword.

I believe you...but I can't find anything about him being on Star Trek.

                  Got a link?

                    Nope,

I only know this because I remember him saying it on Letterman all those years ago.

I tried to get some more info, but I can't find any either.

                          Mike,

I'm sorry to be a dissenter here but I don't think that pic is him. Maybe he is in the episode but I don't think that is the correct pic. He is a short guy, I think shorter than Shatner.

That picture is just a screen cap I grabbed from the episode on youtube.

Just view the episode about 1/3 through and you'll see it.

I think it's him. He, and most of the other security guards in the episode are not credited. I am not surprised that info on it is scarce. Harry's most famous work is either voicing on the Simpsons or wearing a wig and beard in Spinal Tap. And I am sure that it could remain "stealth" considering all those things.
