I haven't read any of the comics, but I suspected that Bob had been bitten, given the circumstances of the episode. But I'm wondering why that would make him (or Dale, as in the comics) tainted meat, since everyone is already carrying the virus anyway. I guess it's an active infection thing?

I was thinking the same thing. They've been eating "infected" people all along, so what is the difference, if any, here?

Plus, Bob's bite doesn't necessarily doom him to turn. Herschel was saved by amputation (and meds? I can't remember), so maybe the Termites did Bob a favor here and cut off his bitten leg.

Everyone is already carrying the virus but it only activates when you die. Otherwise, you need to be bit to cause a escalating infection that will ultimately lead to death. That's why they cut off Hershel's leg, to save the rest of his body.
If the Hunters keep chomping away at Bob they're only eating tainted meat...he's just not showing signs of it...yet.

Who is to say that Bob was bitten on the leg they cut off? He could be hiding the wound elsewhere.

I didn't say he was bitten in the leg, or that they implied that on the show. Just saying it would be funny if that was where he was bitten and the Termites in turn saved his life by cutting it off.

From what I've read, the general consensus is BBQ'ing Bob will kill off any transmissible infection, if they go that route.

Personally, I don't think they are as a lot of what they do feels on-the-fly. As pointed out, Bob was mighty suspicious at the prison, and that went really, really nowhere. Same with the rat-guy inside the prison and how one of the girl's ended up the feeder. It didn't square with the foreshadowing, as did some of the parts of Woodbury. IMO, Bob was saved from being the Governor's inside man and Sasha was saved from the flu so they could replace Glenn and Maggie in the current storyline. If Glenn doesn't get killed by Neegan, than I think it's going to be Carol because nobody would see that coming.

Here's a thought... I don't recall them asking his name, could have been something off camera, but maybe Bob was part of their group before, and was able to get away? They seemed to know him fairly well.

I think Lizzie being the one who fed the Walkers the rats made perfect sense. She never saw them for what they were, which was part of her "problem." She wanted to befriend them and play with them. To me, feeding them the rats was her taking care of them.

I'm not sure it's general knowledge that everyone is infected. Rick & his initial group know because the CDC guy told him. Abraham & Eugene probably aren't aware yet.
The Termites had a system there for slaughter, and I imagine it was all done pretty quickly. The victims were kept in the cars until needed. Not sure there were any refrigeration systems still working, and they burned all the unused parts...like the heads. Probably ASAP to prevent attracting bugs & smell. There were big containers in the slaughterhouse marked eat & burn. And I'm guessing Gareth's crew weren't in control of Terminus for very long, maybe only a few months or so?
Anyway, whether or not you could turn from eating tainted Bob meat, it's still a gross out moment for the Termies.

If you're eating human flesh I think you're beyond any kind of "gross out moment."

I love the way they take liberty with the comic and pick and choose what they will use. We can speculate but thye may take a left turn . . . . the only thing I know for sure is that sometime fairly soon Rick WILL fulfill the promise he made to Garreth . . . . and I can't wait!

It did make sense, but the shots of the original feeder did not resemble a kid's body size. And then the way the dude living in the subfloors, pinning rats to the walls or whatever, went nowhere...I just came to believe it was one larger subplot of some prison crazy trying to drive them out and they switched course when they started plotting this season.
