Mexico were desperately unlucky, all they had to do is keep the ball for the last 15 minutes or so, but the mentality though with a 1-0 score line is to sit back in numbers and defend, when sometimes the best form of defense is attack. -

No...not forgiving him. He messed up when it counted.
I do not blame the Mexican players...they played their hearts out...Ochoa again was a beast, there's no question that he's a world-class keeper...he's a free agent...and teams should swarm all over him.
I blame Miguel Herrera...huge strategic blunder from him...his decisions stagnated Mexico to the role of survivor...bad, bad move.Leave a comment:

Herrera proved to be an excellent manager. He got Mexico in the tournament by himself, and got it out because of a mistake. What the Dutch just did was an inch short of a miracle. And the referee made a mistake, too.
Mexicans should be proud of Herrera. He already did a lot with those players.Leave a comment:

Agreed on all three of your sentences.Losing a match that was already won surely must be painful. That's your classic Robben, and yes, that one deserve some Academy award!
Unfortunately, coach Herrera removed most of Mexico's scoring force, and all of a sudden Sneijder came up with that super shot.
Guillermo Ochoa is one incredible goalkeeper. I can't believe the tycoons from FC Barcelona signed two lesser names instead of this guy!Leave a comment:

Had Mexico lost by playing till the end, I could've accepted that...but they stopped playing the last thirty minutes...I can understand protecting a lead in the waving minutes...but not 30 minutes before the 90th mark...way too early to play passively...it was only a matter of time before they paid dearly for that strategy...and that flop by "flopping baldie" didn't help matters either.
Why change when two attacking striker formation was doing so well for you? Especially though the entire tournament.
Herrera made a costly strategic mistake.
GO USA and COLOMBIA!!!!Last edited by Hector; Jun 29, '14, 4:36 PM.Leave a comment:

Sorry hector. I know how that loss feels. As much as I root against the Mexican national team, they were easy to pull for this tourney. Good group of guys.Leave a comment:
