Well, I can remember an Euro about a decade ago when Greece took the trophy home. OF COURSE that team can NOT be compared to these Germans, worldcup Champions now in 2014, but those Greeks stand out as what you would point out as "best", aren't they?

No, I would not even consider the Brazil team as bums. It is just that the Germans aren't clearly better than most of the teams. And they have no stars at all. You see, there is no Breitner or Rummenigge in this team. The final match was all open, and both teams have space to put all they got to get the trophy and you have to admit that there was no brilliance at all. The match itself was no better than what you would see every year in, say, a Champion's League final game.
Do you really believe the Germans were *that* clearly the best team of the worldcup, Hector?

A very sad match indeed. Oh, and that's such an average, star-less winning team!
Can't help to imagine what it would have been if Van Gaal's team was on the other side tonight. Germans were lucky, the Argentinians let go three or four clear chances to score. That's just what you get when you do so!
But all in all, it's been a very exciting worldcup, lots of nice moments and good memories. With Spain and Brazil being brutalized 5-1 and 7-1 respectively, it was freakin' amazing. Thanks Brazil for a great tournament.
Let's hope we can see better soccer played in France 2016!!
