There's still a drive-in on the outskirts of my town, and it does a healthy business in the summer months. I haven't been in several years.. I think the last film I saw there was the comedy Kingpin.. -

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves I was about to enter my freshman year of high school and my sister drove me and my cousins to see it before school started ... I think that was the last summer it was opened ... the sign is still there but where the screens were is now a very nice 11 screen theater in Salem OregonLeave a comment:

We used to go all the time in the 90's when I was in college in Wyoming. The drive in was an hour away in Fort Collins, Colorado. Boy I miss that. Not sure about the last movie there though. I remember as a kid my siblings and I would wear our PJs to the drive in and we'd lay out under the stars and watch the movie. WOW, this brings up some good memories.Leave a comment:

All the drive-in were long gone by the time I was able to drive in the 80's. But the last one I remember going to was "What's Up Doc?" (For those that don't know this an early 70's comedy, no cartoon bunnies involved). My parents couldn't find a sitter that night and I slept through the movie. (Once I realized it had nothing to do with cartoon bunnies)Leave a comment:

No drive ins here ...but we did recreate one with all my boy's toy cars and the big screen up to watch "The Black Hole" and "Big Trouble in Little China" the other week...does that count?Leave a comment:

For me it was Independence Day. The following year the drive-in theatre in Union City closed down. I sure miss drive-in theatres.
