Merril was really lucky to have found your family to give him the respect and love he deserved during his last week of life. You are a gentleman my friend.

I too had to puy my best friend to rest in July. My cat Joey was 19 years old. He had cancer and kidney failure. He was in pretty good shape up until his final days. We took him for treatments for 6 months, but the inevitable will come and is hard to accept. I did whatever was needed for him because of all the years of joy he gave us. Your story and pictures reminded me of Joey, just in a shorter time frame. I shed some tears reading your story. I like to think Joey met and greeted Merril upstairs and said welcome home my friend. I am writing this to show the upmost respect for what you did for a cat you just met. You are good people my friend.

      Cheers brother.

      Dan.

That's a great picture you just painted, Joey waiting to say hi to Merril and to show him around and where all the best catnip grows.
So sorry to hear about Joey though, 19 years wow, you were blessed with a long time with him, no kitty has probably ever been more cared for.

Sorry to hear about that, though as hard as it might be, it was for sure the right thing to do. At least you made him happy and took care of him. Sounds like he was an awesome cat too.

I can't understand the cruelty of some people. who could abandon an animal like that. Kudos to you for taking him in and caring for him in the end, and for giving him a peaceful end. at least he was loved at the end of his life

Thanks Kevin! Cases like this makes me like animals better than people sadly.
