That was a very noble act on your part and speaks to the core of your heart. You're a good man. It was simply Merril's time. But you gave him happiness at the end. And that was an amazing gift for him to achieve after what was surely a long struggle on his journey home. Both of you fought it together and that is what counts. I'm confident you will see him again. What a joyous reunion that will be. My heart goes out to you.Comment

I saw your thread earlier but I dunno what I to saying well. I felt bad about your poor older kitty.....
Hope you'll get a new born 1 week old kitty to bring to your new home and he/she'll live a long time with you than adopted fair to older one.....

I just had to put a 6yr old down....its a hard thing to do....I have a 11yr old cat that keeps doing that deep cry thing all over the house...sitting at the basement stairs, waiting for the other one to come up from his favorite hangout place....people take it hard, it sure shows that another cat knows, and is suffering.....the two were inseparable.
